BMW rider starts a fight after trying to cut the queue at Tuas checkpoint

Guys, I know the jam at checkpoints are long, but waiting a few hours is probably better than waiting a few months in jail.  What happened? On 6th May 2023, a BMW 1200gs rider at Tuas checkpoint decided that the queue was too long and tried to cut it.  However, he was unfortunate in his choice of victim, who was apparently a Malaysian rider who refused to let him have his way.  This resulted in a fight where the Malaysian man was being held back by a couple other r

BMW revises Z4 M40i’s century sprint timing after launch of Toyota Supra

It seems like BMW has quietly revised its Z4 M40i's 0-100km/h timing after Toyota claimed its GR Supra could achieve the same sprint in 4.1 seconds.   According to Carscoops, BMW, being conservative as usual with the acceleration numbers, underrated how fast its M40i's is when they quoted the car's century timing at 4.4 seconds. This is despite the Z4 having 382bhp versus the GR Supra's 335bhp.   Without wanting to go through the trouble of explaining why they were so conservative with the

BMW returning to Le Mans in 2018 with the M8 GTE

The BMW 8 Series is making its return. The German automaker's flagship coupe is replacing the now-dead 6 Series coupe, both on and off the track. At this year's Frankfurt Motor Show, BMW revealed the M8 GTE, our closest look at the road-going car we've seen yet. Sure, the Concept 8 was a looker, but it's still a concept. BMW also announced that it would be returning to Le Mans with its first factory-backed car since 2011.   Just like the production car, the M8 GTE will be replacing a variant o

A couple of years back, BMW announced that they will return to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters racing series in 2012, after a nearly 20 year absence. And in just its first season after its comeback, BMW had won a hat trick of titles (driver, manufacturer and team titles).   To commemorate these incredible accomplishments, BMW is releasing a limited production M3 known as the DTM Champion Edition. The car is designed to look like Canadian driver, Bruno Spengler's M3 DTM racing car. Spen

BMW have released initial specifications of the second generation BMW X3 and the SUV will be officially launched at the upcoming Paris Motor Show this October 2010. The mid-sized BMW SUV keeps its same position in the BMW hierarchy by slotting in neatly between the small hatchback sized X1 and the Range Rover sized X5 SUVs. As usual, it blends in both the new X1 and X5 looks and is a familiar shape with all the latest BMW styling cues especially that new larger, nostrils err... kidney grill on i

BMW overtakes Toyota as the best car brand in the world

The most valuable car marque in the world today is BMW. Automotive News reports that BMW has replaced Toyota to take the number one spot in the list of automakers. The study was part of an overall study called the BrandZ Top 100 conducted by Millward Brown research group. The car manufacturers are number 25 and 26 on the list respectively. I suppose Toyota's drop in position was caused by all the controversy caused by its recalls and faults throughout the United States and Europe. Of course some

The world is full of strange news nowadays. A few weeks ago, we had a case whereby a woman in China killed a shop owner by squeezing his testicles due to a dispute over parking space for her scooter. Now, we have a man in the US who is suing BMW for causing an erection which lasted for two years. The plaintiff, by the name of Henry Wolf, is claiming that a four-hour ride in his BMW bike has caused him two years of continuous erection. He alleged that the Corbin-Pacific ridge-like seat is t

BMW Mini has decided to stop developing the Mini Rocketman - Boo Hoo Hoo

The latest news is that BMW Mini has decided that is will stop development of the properly small Mini Rocketman. This car was previewed as a concept car at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and I was genuinely excited that there was going to be a proper Mini instead of those ultra large Minis that we have right now. How unfortunate that this will now not be a reality. It seems that the Mini Rocketman concept will not be further developed as the car's really short wheelbase and overall length (3

BMW makes cheeky video following Mercedes CEO's departure

Mercedes-Benz's CEO Dieter Zetsche, is retiring and BMW has decided to come out with a humorous video to send him off. With a Zetsche lookalike, the video imitates the CEO's last day at work as he leaves the company. We won't spoil the clip for you but what happens after that is a pretty classy poke from BMW to its rival. Zetsche has held the reigns of the company for more than 13 years and has passed on his responsibilities to Ola Kallenius at the company’s 2019 annual shareholder mee

BMW M6 stares in latest Pennzoil short flim

Pennzoil is back with another video for its JOYRIDE series marketing campaign. The main actor this time is a BMW M6 coupe in bright yellow. Interestingly, the car is seen with a manual transmission which is rarely seen outside of America. This is because the manual M5 and M6 are only available there.   Shot in the deserted Canadian tundra with the M6 wearing snow tyres, racing and stunt driver Rhys Millen, can be seen skilfully piloting the car hard. Drift fans, you will love this video.

BMW M4 GTS registers a blistering 7:27.88 timing at the Green Hell

The German car manufacturer has just published a video showing their BMW M4 GTS clocking a impressive 7:27.88 laptime on the notorious Green Hell. To put it into perspective, the timing it recorded is as fast as Ferrari's 458 Italia and McLaren's MP4-12C. It is also a stunning 20 plus seconds faster than its "normal" variant, the M4.   The huge difference in timing between the two variants is down to the optimised suspension settings, the increase in power and the removable of unnecessary wei
