BMW's i3 can look pretty good with some new shoes

Shoes can make or break one's outfit if not properly matched. You could say same thing applies to cars. And swapping your wheels out for new ones are probably the easiest way to customise your car's appearance.   SR Auto Group fitted its BMW i3 with a set of PUR LG04 alloy rims with a custom made flat lip and blue screws which are in the same shade as the i3's body trim accents.   Nothing else seems to be changed other than an upgraded suspension which drops the car by a fair bit. I must sa

One quick cut later, it is seen nearly completely submerged in a miniature version of a waterfall. The driver appears to be is still conscious, with his/her foot on the brake pedal. Hot Audi Q2 spied at the Nurburgring

The dust on Audi’s smallest crossover, the Q2 has not even settled yet but Carscoops has already spotted a hotter version of it on the Nurburgring almost completely free of camouflage.   The faster iteration of the Q2 is expected to feature the same powertrain as the Audi S3, which means it will should get around 270bhp or thereabouts. Obviously, it will have Audi's all-wheel drive system and from the photos, it looks like it will benefit from larger wheels and brakes.   Expect the regular

New Honda NSX meets its hardcore predecessor

Can Honda's complex hybrid supercar match the purity and focus of the legendary NSX-R? DriveTribe's Editor-at-Large Jethro Bovingdon has the answers in his video review.   Shot in Britain's Anglesey circuit, the two cars are actually pretty different in our opinion as one is a a hardcore sports car built with only setting lap times and driver enjoyment in mind while the newer NSX is a technological tour-de-force that has to do well as an all rounder daily driver.   So which one will Jethro

Which one of the twins is faster? The Z4 or Supra

By now, we should all know both the BMW Z4 M40i and Toyota Supra share the same engine and have nearly the same amount of power. So which is faster in a straight line?   According to BMW, the Z4 puts out 340bhp while Toyota claims that its Supra makes do with 'just' 335bhp. Both cars are using the same ZF-manufactured eight-speed automatic gearbox and both wear the same Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres.   So with only a 40kg difference in weight, this race should be a close

2011 Italian F1: Vettel wins again but Schumacher shows us how its done

The 2011 Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix was another one of those action packed races this season where Sebastian Vettel won. Yes, that chap may still be knocking the socks off the other contestants but it isn't a dull one horse race at all. He may be impervious at this moment but I don't really care because after the recent mid-season break we're actually seeing some movement from the other teams. Ferrari and McLaren seem to have gotten their form back as Jenson Button came in second for McLaren a

Small roadster with a big heart

Aston Martin has revealed a new drool worthy and limited drop top version of its Aston Martin V12 Vantage sports car. Like the name suggests, it is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.0-litre V12 engine within the petite Vantage frame. The V12 powertrain generates 509bhp and 570Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, good enough to sprint to a 100km/h in 4.5s before maxing out at 305km/h.   The car looks fairly similar to its coupe sibling besides a redesigned boot lid th

Alfa Romeo 4C spied during testing in Italy

The upcoming Alfa Romeo 4C has been captured when undergoing testing in Italy. Lightly camouflaged, the production 4C remains true to the lines of the stunning concept that stole the show at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.   Compared to the concept, the road-going version has a re-designed hood, bigger mirrors and restyled headlights. It also appears to have wider front and rear windscreens which should improve visibility. The coupe is observed to be sitting very close to the ground.

German driver crashed his Mondeo to test air bags

A German driver, Uwe Schrager, deliberately crashed his Ford Mondeo into a tree to test the airbags of his car. "I knew that the car was fitted with airbags but I didn't trust that they would work, so I wanted to test them. I felt it was better to have a low speed crash that I was likely to survive if they didn't work rather than a high speed crash when it will be too late if they didn't work," said the unemployed Schrager when questioned by the police.   When the police arrived, they found t

Marvel fans can consider Daihatsu's latest offering

Marvel fans can consider Daihatsu's latest new car, the Thor pictured here with "G aero stylish pack". However die-hard fans of the superhero might be disappointed as the car isn't exactly handsome nor muscular-looking...   Based on the Toyota Roomy/Tank and Subaru Justy, the Thor is no Kei car but looks very similar to one. Slightly larger than what the kei cars have to adhere to, the Thor is equipped with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol and is matched to a CVT transmission.   Producing

The revival of the Atalanta Sports Tourer

Back in December last year, I wrote about the resurgence of several British sports car manufacturers and one of them is Atalanta Motors. Details were little back then but a recent launch of the new car provided more details about the revival. The event was held at the Royal Automobile Club on 05 March 2012, exactly 75 years when the original Atalanta Sports Tourer was introduced in 1937 by its founder Neil Watson.   This revival project is a joint venture between restorer Trevor Farring
