TL;DR – A couple gets videoed getting extremely intimate in the new Volkswagen Golf at a multi-storey carpark. They should honestly get a room.   Video footage of a couple getting hot and steamy at a multi-storey carpark surfaced earlier today (3rd August 2021). Here’s the video for your viewing pleasure. Update: SGRV has removed the video from their FB page But, we've got you fam. Here's a GIF     Isn’t that the new Volkswagen Golf? It do

Cyclist thinks protective gear makes him invincible, bus shows him otherwise

It is always good practice to wear protective gear whenever you are cycling. However, being decked out in protective gear doesn't grant you superpowers or special protection against other road users/vehicles. Watch this short clip and find out what I mean: This incident occurred at a junction along Hougang Avenue 9. A blatant disregard for traffic law The traffic lights were green, which permitted the cam car and Bus 109 (travelling in the opposite direction)

$500,000 GTR with $4000+ worth of parking fines tries to escape $6.52 parking fee

TL:DR – The title says it all. The owner claims that he ended up paying the $6.52 in the end, and the accumulated fines were due to the inability to navigate slopes at the MSCP because of the GTR’s lowered stance.   When you drive an eye-catching car like a Nissan GTR, you’d better be on your best behaviour on the roads. There are digital eyes everywhere! Trying to escape paying carpark fees is not an example of ‘best behaviour’. Here’s the video for a weekend laugh.

Man prowls entire carpark and did extensive research on kerb weights after being denied season parking

That's a really long wall of text, so I'll sum it up for you. The owner of a 2011 Mercedes Viano was denied a HDB Multi-Storey Car Park season parking with the main reason being the excessive weight (more than 2,000kg) of the vehicle.   So what does he do? He proceeded to spend some time checking out the various cars parked in HDB MSCP and came up with a short list of cars that weigh more than 2,000kg. If you look at this excerpt from HDB's website regarding the pa

Instant karma for cyclist who tries to cut off cars during a red light

TL;DR - Cyclist in Clementi thinks he's the Boss of the road, gets knocked down by SUV during green light for vehicles. Netizens unanimously laugh. While I’m not a driver, I understand how annoying cyclists can be. I like running, and in my usual route there’s a narrow stretch where cyclists are supposed to dismount. There is a large sign at both ends of this stretch telling them to dismount.  Something like this. But they don’t, so my momentum dies because some fellow can’t obey

Childish Shariot driver thinks out of the box on how to manage his anger after vehicle cuts into his lane

TL;DR – A Honda Shuttle makes a super-illegal left turn to block the path of cam car at a slip road. The cam car had initially cut into the Honda Shuttle’s lane and the Shuttle driver was having none of it.   If someone cuts into your lane abruptly, how would you react? Whack that high beam? Sound the horn? Curse the other driver in the comfort of your car and forget about it in five minutes? That’s what I would do. But, in this latest 3-minute video, we have a

Second Opinion - The Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 and its rivals

Toyota recently launched their 11th generation Corolla Altis and it is a pretty well-resolved car. Since this 1.6-litre sedan category is such a hotly-contested segment, we thought it would be nice to have a second opinion of the Corolla Altis comparing with some of its closest rivals…   Kia Forte K3 1.6 First up, our recent Sedan of the Year winner, the Forte K3. This Hiace driver is a hero Singapore did not ask for but definitely a hero we need on our roads

Not all heroes wear capes; some of them drive a Toyota Hiace. In this video, a cam car and a silver Hiace were waiting to turn right at a junction. As the green signal came on, both vehicles started to make their turns. A silver Prius suddenly charges straight through the junction out of the blue, clearly ignoring the red light signal on the road.  The front of the van almost swipes the side of the car as it rushes past both vehicles. Content creator declares Singaporeans as the worst drivers, almost everyone agrees

Do you need to warm up your car before driving?

We are sure most of us have been told by 'automotive experts' that one should always wait for the car to be warmed up before driving off. Is it true?   According to Jason Fenske from his YouTube 'Engineering Explained' channel, cars with electronic fuel injection do not need to be warmed up before lightly driving off. This is because almost every vehicle built over the last quarter of century has fuel injection, which in turn compensates for the temperature changes as the car gets warmed up.

Understanding Singapore's COE system

Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) give Singaporeans the right to own a vehicle. COEs are integral to the Vehicle Quota System (VQS), a landmark scheme implemented to regulate the growth of vehicle population in Singapore which, due to land space, is unsurprisingly among the densest in the world.   The VQS determines the exact number of vehicles allowed on the road. Other measures to curb vehicle growth like raising taxes and fees do not have the advantage of knowing the exact increase needed
