Watch this Mercedes C200 driver ruthlessly run over a Deliveroo rider at a red light

Disclaimer: The use of the word 'ruthlessly' in the title refers to the action of the driver running over the stationary rider and not the driver's intention. We do not assume or imply that the driver intended to cause hurt. Last night (Oct 3), a Mercedes C200 driver caused a major accident along Elias Road, resulting in traffic delays. After watching this clip, I was in shock. To think that someone could simply run over another person without even slowing down sends chi

Common mispronounced car names

As a "car guy"(or girl), nothing grinds your gears more than hearing a mispronounced car brand or model name. There may be some that even ‘we’ have been mispronouncing. Lets go through some of the more common mispronunciations we’ve been hearing.   Audi: It's aw-dee, not o-dee. Like the sound you make when it hurts: aw-dee.   Chevrolet: For a GM marque that's been around over a hundred years, you'd think there's no way people could still get Chevrolet wrong. Its shev-ro-ley.   Citroen: Cit

Watch a Volvo FH Truck race the Koenigsegg One:1 (VIDEO)

When it comes to racing, weight and power play a great deal in determining how well the car will perform. As such, it is unnatural for anyone to want to pit a truck against a car, especially when the car in question is one of the fastest in the world - the Koenigsegg One:1. But it seems like Volvo Trucks has decided to take the path untraveled, in an unprecedented race between its flagship FH series and the super sports car.   Few sports car can stand in the way of the One:1. E-bikes are everywhere

A horrific accident involving a trailer and three electric bicycles last month - which killed two riders and injured the third - has put e-bikes in the spotlight once again.   It is easy to get carried away and say we should do this or that - including banning such contraptions - to prevent more loss of life and limb. But there is a danger of throwing the baby out with the bath water in the process if we are not careful.   First of all, some perspective. Accidents happen. And more often tha

Do more to smoothen COE supply

LATEST figures from the Land Transport Authority (LTA) show that the private car population is at its lowest level since 2011, falling to 598,219 as at the end of January.   The shrinkage could continue, with analysts saying it is a sign that the supply of Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) is lagging behind actual replacement demand.   But a larger imbalance is on the horizon and could cause COE prices - which have been trending down - to spike by 2020 unless something is done to smoothen t

The drive to be driverless

The Government is all electrified about autonomous vehicles. Like governments elsewhere, it sees huge and vast potential in this new technology. And it has little to do with revenue for it.   Last month, it launched a request for information (RFI) for mobility- on-demand and autonomous buses trials at One-North business park. If successful, autonomous buses could improve commuter service without the perennial constraints of labour cost or labour shortage.   Mobility-on-demand services could

Fernando Alonso considers switch to other racing series

Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso claims that current regulations is killing all the fun out of F1. McLaren which isn't doing as well as they would like to currently, would definitely benefit in some rule changes too.   Thankfully, 2017 will see an increase in aerodynamic and mechanical grip, as wider wings and tyres become the new standard. Porsche boss admits Panamera's style is offputting

The design of the Porsche Panamera has been divisive, to say the least. Pretty much any Porsche with four doors was going to draw the ire of enthusiasts, but the fast-back-style roofline, prominent curves and seemingly never-ending hood have particularly irked some brand loyalists.   Finally, Porsche's headman is admitting to that.   CEO Matthias Mueller said the appearance – inside and out – has missed the mark, and changes are coming for the redesign. "There have been some small mistakes a
