Marussia is it's name and no matter how they've tried to make the car seem harmless and dainty in their promotional efforts, the name of the company and the design language the car speaks never stops reminding you that the car is born in mother Russia. And most likely would run you to the ground if you stopped by the showroom and didn't end up signing on those dotted lines for one.
Started by a popular singer, television new anchor and theater actor, Nikolay Fomenko also found time to become an FIA N-GT champion and to start Russia's very own supercar company!
Just from it's looks it's easy to see the influences that went into the design. Reventon lights on a very Zonda front, subtle zonda cockpit bubble and a very Enzo rear-end drives home the design direction the designers took, a fighter jet, yet again.
And with the Tesla, Marussia is banking on incorporating hybrid technology in all their plans for their models and will could be possibly sourcing a 3.5 petrol engine from Nissan-Renault. With the battery though, Marussia will be looking towards more established companies in acquiring a battery employing nanotechnology (to combat the paralyzing cold weather in Russia).
I think the car looks beautiful though. There's just something about the mish-mash of designs that actually seems to be distinguishing the Marussia as it's own.
Update: Marussia announces a major partnership deal with Virgin with their Formula 1 team. AND Cosworth will be supplying ENGINES to the team. Is anyone seeing a link here? Marussia...I really hope you make these baby's in RHD.
Here's a link to one of their promo's.
