Toyota has just released the facelifted Vios in Thailand. The timing couldn't have been more appropriate with the onslaught of the Mazda 2 sedan, and the upcoming Ford Fiesta sedan. Externally, the cosmetic changes include a revised grille, rear tail lamp and chromed boot lid. The 1.5L VVTI unit with 4 speed transmission in the current Vios continues to power the facelifted model.

The set of interior photos revealed some interesting changes. There is the availability of a Heads-Up Display module that displays the current speed of the car on the windscreen. The revised steering wheel looks more sporty with a flatter bottom. a nice touch! Another commendable feature is the inclusion of an engine start/stop button. This feature is also available in the hot korean model - the Kia Cerato Forte. I believe Toyota has to step up its game against the koreans. An area that I hope to see improvement in the new Vios is the usage of better quality plastics for the interior.

Expect the revised Vios to reach our local shore in a couple of months' time.

The HUD is aftermarket - I installed the same one for myself, minus the Toyota brand not printed on the HUD box :p

IMHO, I say that the steering wheel looks darn nice, much better than the current ones :)

Chromed camry-like grille?? Old Toyota thinks the whole world is full of Ah pek with ah pek taste?

The FL just successfully made the Vios more "mature" by giving it's targeted market of Young buyers a camry-like grille? Seriously to all the young car owners....what do you think about it?

As a driver of the prev gen Vios, I was utterly disappointed by the direction Toyota is take on their car designs.

The prev-vios has such sporty and young hints in it's design, especially the pre-FL version. Even the current pre-FL Vios looks so much younger.

I think I'll give Toyotas a miss until they buck up their looks department in their future lineups.

  • Tennis: Beautiful game that doesn't know how to count

Wimbledon just concluded yesterday (congrats Sinner!), and it's a reminder of how much I enjoy tennis as a sport. I used to play it some (wasn't particularly good), and still tangentially follow it nowadays (the Roland Garros final this year between Alcaraz and Sinner is an all-time classic).  There's something intrinsically mesmerising about the sport, I think even for spectators who have never picked up a racquet. At first glance, it may seem like just two people (or four, but doubles is

Cordless vacuum cleaners: A young adult's best friend?

Every young adult probably arrives at the same point when they’ve started working for a few years: Household chores start to become more enjoyable. Don’t get me wrong – they don’t have to be one’s favourite activity on earth. But chores start to make sense: An environment that’s put-together is always a welcome haven, whether it’s returning home after a long day out, or simply staying in over the weekend (or when you’re working from home.) As a young adult myself, I've come to appreciate an

YOLO or FOMO? The perils of overpacked holidays

You've finally escaped your daily grind, jetted off to paradise, and now you're... exhausted? Welcome to the modern vacation conundrum. In the words of a well-spoken colleague, this is "where YOLO meets FOMO in an epic battle for your precious holiday time". The overplanning trap Many of us are hardwired for productivity because we're pressed for time. Everything from errands to visits to workouts must be scheduled in a bid to save time. At times, it seems like the only goal is to

    Ready? Steady? Slow!

Have you ever watched on of those baby crawling races? They are hilarious. I watch a lot of NBA, and sometimes they have these races as a halftime entertainment. And its hilarious because unlike most athletic races, there's an inherent unpredictability and chaos to these things. They get distracted, they get bored, they get tired. Babies doing baby things, you know.  Well, England thinks it can one-up the absurdity of racing: Introducing to you, Snail Racing.  It seems almost
