Nissan has previously announced that there will be a successor to the R35 GT-R and the next GT-R is due to be released in either 2017 or 2018. The GT-R's chief engineer, Kazutoshi Mizuno, also mentioned that the current R35 GT-R will evolve over the next five years.

According to recent reports, engineers at the company are considering giving the next Nissan GT-R a hybrid powerplant. This might not come as a surprise since there have been a rising number of automakers experimenting with hybrid technology for their supercars.

Nissan's engineers are looking at two possibilities at the moment. The first one is a hybrid set-up where one or more electric motors will help to boost the car's performance and depend on recovered brake energy for power.

Nissan introduced the Infiniti Essence Concept with a similar hybrid technology a few years back and the concept was able to make around 600bhp. But, the heavy weight of the batteries used for the hybrid system was a real let down for the engineers at that time.

The other option is a simpler one which utilises an electric motor to power up supporting items such as lights and etc. this will help to greatly reduce the load of the engine. Additionally, it will also help to boost performance by being mounted to the gearbox. The next GT-R might also feature engine stop-start technology and cylinder deactivation in order to improve fuel consumption.

Introducing hybrid technology on supercars will have some benefits. Other than reducing emissions level and improving fuel economy, electric motors will give the car instantaneous torque, improved traction control (especially for all wheel drive cars) and increased range through reduced fuel consumption.

Crazy accident causes Nissan Qashqai to flip and more

A Nissan qashqai was caught on video going out of control last friday in Bishan. As seen in the low-resolution video, the white SUV crashed through the fence and onto the wrong direction of Bishan Road while doing a flip and more. Thankfully, the lost of control of the car did not cost any lives. According to SG Road Vigilante, The 80-year-old driver and his 74-year-old female passenger were conscious when they were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.   Obviously, there is going to be some negativity once the driver's age has been revealed... Thankfully there are some nice people out there that are more understanding...

What to do with neighbours who install loud exhaust systems for their cars

If there's something strange in the neighbourhood, who you gonna call? Ghostbusters! If there's something unbearable like the loud exhaust from an RX-8 (I think it’s an RX-8), who you gonna call? LTA! LTA takes your complaints seriously In a post uploaded on SG Road Vigilante, a video and various images of 2 LTA officers checking out the undercarriage of an RX-8 has gone viral. Here's the link to the long video (might take awhile to load because it’s 4mins+ long, I suggest skimming through the video). The story behind this Apparently, a "pek cek" (exasperated) neighbour could not take the sound of the car’s exhaust and made a complaint to LTA. The neighbour even left a note for the owner of the car. Online Chatter I can feel the passion from this comment. Very interesting plot twist. I think the neighbour will have to lan lan suck thumb, wear earplugs.  Err. LTA stands for Land Transport Authority. If you want to complain Have a neighbour with too much money and owns a car that disrupts the peace of the neighbourhood? Call LTA @ 1800 2255 582 The officers will come down to investigate in no time.

BMW M2 Competition crashes into bus stop

Most of us must be cursing and swearing when the alarm clock rang this morning, as the weather was perfect for sleeping in thanks to the morning thunderstorm. We have almost no doubt that the BMW driver in the following photos must be really angry with himself too! The following photos have been in circulation around social media platorms since the morning of 13 May 2020. Not much is known about the cause of the accident but the it did occur to us that this crash happened between Kallang Road and Geylang Road. The wet roads caused by the rain in the morning might have caused the BMW M2 Competition driver to lose control. With more than 400bhp going to the rear wheels, this is one very 'driftable' weapon...
