Mazda will recall 88,000 vehicles which are fitted with the marque's proprietary i-ELOOP energy recovery system.

A spokesperson for Mazda USA has confirmed that up to 88,000 cars will be involved in this recall, citing the "control program that is designed to protect the capacity is reacting hyper sensitively when the alternator belt gets wet and slippage occurs".

This will affect the car's acceleration, and in more severe cases the glitch will cause the engine to stall. However, the company has assured that no accidents or injuries has been caused by the fault. It is unsure if the models imported into Singapore are affected by this round of recall.

Are the new Mazda 3 and 6 sold in Singapore affected by this recall?

Seems like the Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 sold in Singapore are affected too.

This is a global recall of 88,000 vehicles. Within the U.S., there are only 6,500 that need to be fixed. ie, there are 81,500 Mazdas outside the U.S. to be recalled.
But not to worry. The fix, involving a simple ECU reflash, will take under an hour to be applied.

Still a beauty in my eyes. This car have the potential! Mazda is claiming a 10% improvement in fuel savings when i-ELoop is paired with a start/ stop system.

Better get it fixed, Madza!

I discussed the possibility of living in tiny houses in Singapore in an earlier blog post. But as we know, it isn't an option to begin with – no thanks, of course, to our lack of land space.  Someone also pointed out that the idea of tiny houses is "romanticised" – which, I don't deny (but hey, that's why it's a dream). While it's clear tiny houses aren't going to work out here, the concept of 'tiny living' is; not just physically but also mentally. Anyone who has lived enough years lo
