blogentry-114362-0-15476400-1409797502_thumb.jpgJapan-Mazda Motor Corporation today celebrated the unveiling of the fourth generation Mazda MX-5 (known as Roadster in Japan) together with fans at events held simultaneously in Japan, USA and Spain. The all-new MX-5, which adopts both SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and Mazda's KODO-Soul of Motion design language, will be rolled out to global markets starting in 2015.

The MX-5 is an iconic model representing Mazda's vehicle-engineering philosophy-the pursuit of driving pleasure. "Innovate in order to preserve" was the motto for the fourth generation, as the development team searched for innovations that go beyond simple evolution. Environmental and safety demands are much more stringent than they were when the first generation MX-5 was introduced 25 years ago, but the fourth generation stays true to the model's original aim of offering the pure driving fun that only a lightweight sports car can. It achieves this through the adoption of SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and refinement of its appeal to the senses and sensations through which people enjoy cars.

The design of the all-new MX-5 reveals another layer to Mazda's KODO design language. The exquisite proportions make the driver and passenger stand out, and both the interior and exterior evoke the exhilaration of open-top driving. It is the most compact of any generation MX-5 so far and is more than 100 kilograms lighter than the model it replaces, promising a dramatic leap in Jinba-ittai driving fun.

As of July 2014, total production volume of the Mazda MX-5 exceeded 940,000 units and it continues to hold the Guinness World Record for the best-selling two-seater sports car. This highly-celebrated model has received over 200 awards from around the globe including Japan Car of the Year 2005-2006.

Moving forward, Mazda will continue to develop products which offer all customers driving pleasure and outstanding environmental and safety performance.

I see a faint resemblance to the California, don't really like the tail lamps..

But overall it looks not bad. Nice paint job too!

I hope the local AD will bring this in. It'll be the cheapest convertible available.

Even if I do not buy it, I hope many others will. Such nippy cars that take up little road and parking space is a joy for all fellow drivers.

I dunno but I don't see really any of the kodo design in it. I personally wouldve preferred a kinda similar front end to the mazda 6 style albeit a bit more agressive and roadsterish. I agree this thing has kind of a fish mouth. Overall not crazy about it but I'll give it a chance. Actually it looks a quite a bit like the ferrari california from the front end.

Is the Audi RS5 Sportback a match for its rivals?

Looking for a German performance sedan? The Audi RS5 offers plenty of performance with 444bhp and 600Nm of torque. And boy is Idris excited to get behind the wheel in this video review! Wouldn't we all? And as you would expect from a Sportback from Audi, it is quite the looker as well. But this RS5 comes with plenty of practical features as well. Despite offering so much performance, there's space for our usual luggage test in the boot! And being a four-door, you'd expect sufficient space for your passengers as well, and the RS5 delivers. Unfortunately it looks like that touchscreen is a bit of a stretch away when you're seated at the front... And how does it drive? Very impressively it seems! Watch the full video to see and hear more of the Audi RS5 on the road!  You'll want to!

Is this guy trying to be police or funny?

Hello nieces and nephews, this is your uncle Koba here again. Hello. Today, we have this guy who is trying too hard to fulfil his boyhood dream of becoming traffic police. Spotted on Road.sg, this Honda ST1300 - a road touring bike which is kinda familiar to our SPF choice of weapon, the Yamaha XJ900T. Let's have a look. Wait a sec. Fuiyoh! He is a whole package! A long long time ago, there must be young handsome traffic police who gave him a helping and makes him remember how cool traffic police is and since then, he got inspired to becoming one. Alrighty, so nieces and nephews, please take a second look at our traffic police when you spotted one. It may and may not be one.

Man jailed and banned from driving because of a stomachache

TL;DR – A man has been jailed for seven weeks and slapped with a four-year driving ban for speeding, running two red lights, driving against traffic and failing to stop for traffic police. In his defence, he had a stomachache and needed to use the toilet. The next time you’re driving on the roads and ‘kena’ the-mother-of-all-stomachaches, the urge to floor the accelerator will naturally creep into your mind. But don’t do it. Just don’t. Video from SG Road Vigilante YouTube Traffic police chase a man with irritable bowel syndrome This incident occurred sometime in March 2019 in the wee hours of the morning. A man left the Marina Bay Sands Casino and drove towards his home in Jurong. He experienced a stomachache and went up to speeds of 180km/hr (while literally trying to keep his S#$% together) A traffic police officer spotted him after exiting the PIE towards Jurong Canal Drive and gave chase, but the man did not stop for them.   What other crap did he do? Pun intended. He ran two red lights and drove against traffic… twice. When the traffic police managed to pull him over, he had already crapped his pants. The police had to line the back seat of the police car with a plastic sheet before he was allowed to ride in it.   The punishment He has pleaded guilty to one charge of rash driving and failing to stop for a police officer. He will have to serve a seven-week jail term and a four-year-long driving ban. He will begin his jail-term on the 27th of January 2021 and is currently out on $15,000 bail.   Some interesting comments I mean, if you’re that desperate, anything is possible. Can you imagine the conversation in the cell? Cellmate: “Bro, what they catch you for?” Man: “Lao Sai” It sounds like you’ll suffer the next day.   Source - Today Singapore

🤦‍♂️ Haiyah. How can this driver reverse in such situation?

Hello nieces and nephews, Uncle Koba here! 🤡 With the great success of my brother Uncle Roger talking about egg fried rice, which you can check out if you have never watched before. I will be regularly sharing funny and stupid clips regarding our local motorists who cannot drive or don't deserve to drive. I look exactly like my brother, uncle Roger, so these are my memes. Okay. let's begin todays video. Today we have a Mercedes-Benz GLA 180 in silver reversing just because he was on the wrong lane. Wrong lah, wrong lane lah. Singapore how big? If you miss this junction, there is an 86.43% chance that the next junction can do U-turn and go back where you want to go. Singapore government spend so much money on our road, so many scholars, you stupid never mind, can just follow what the scholar has told you.   They have so many road signs for you to follow. Why you never follow? *Sorry, not the best illustration. (But this is funny 😂) I am very surprised that this Mercedes driver managed to pull this stunt without any disturbance or obstruction given that he made the manoeuvre in a four lane road. (I think is at Chinatown).  Okay. for this, I give it to him. This video was found on My Grandfather's Road, I must give them 110 points for post-editing effect. I like the voiceover part. If you guys want to watch can watch here. 😂   Okay, end of my blog. For more entertaining accident/incident you all can share, comment or contribute at Singapore reckless drivers thread .
