blogentry-114362-0-15476400-1409797502_thumb.jpgJapan-Mazda Motor Corporation today celebrated the unveiling of the fourth generation Mazda MX-5 (known as Roadster in Japan) together with fans at events held simultaneously in Japan, USA and Spain. The all-new MX-5, which adopts both SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and Mazda's KODO-Soul of Motion design language, will be rolled out to global markets starting in 2015.

The MX-5 is an iconic model representing Mazda's vehicle-engineering philosophy-the pursuit of driving pleasure. "Innovate in order to preserve" was the motto for the fourth generation, as the development team searched for innovations that go beyond simple evolution. Environmental and safety demands are much more stringent than they were when the first generation MX-5 was introduced 25 years ago, but the fourth generation stays true to the model's original aim of offering the pure driving fun that only a lightweight sports car can. It achieves this through the adoption of SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and refinement of its appeal to the senses and sensations through which people enjoy cars.

The design of the all-new MX-5 reveals another layer to Mazda's KODO design language. The exquisite proportions make the driver and passenger stand out, and both the interior and exterior evoke the exhilaration of open-top driving. It is the most compact of any generation MX-5 so far and is more than 100 kilograms lighter than the model it replaces, promising a dramatic leap in Jinba-ittai driving fun.

As of July 2014, total production volume of the Mazda MX-5 exceeded 940,000 units and it continues to hold the Guinness World Record for the best-selling two-seater sports car. This highly-celebrated model has received over 200 awards from around the globe including Japan Car of the Year 2005-2006.

Moving forward, Mazda will continue to develop products which offer all customers driving pleasure and outstanding environmental and safety performance.

I see a faint resemblance to the California, don't really like the tail lamps..

But overall it looks not bad. Nice paint job too!

I hope the local AD will bring this in. It'll be the cheapest convertible available.

Even if I do not buy it, I hope many others will. Such nippy cars that take up little road and parking space is a joy for all fellow drivers.

I dunno but I don't see really any of the kodo design in it. I personally wouldve preferred a kinda similar front end to the mazda 6 style albeit a bit more agressive and roadsterish. I agree this thing has kind of a fish mouth. Overall not crazy about it but I'll give it a chance. Actually it looks a quite a bit like the ferrari california from the front end.

Just another Sunday with a plane on the highway... Yes, a plane!

Nope, you didn't wake up in the world of Grand Theft Auto. There was indeed, a plane on the highway! Wondering what's happening? No this isn't a publicity stunt or a movie scene. Those with a sharp eye might notice that it happened on the North-South Highway in Malaysia. This plane ended up on the side of the expressway due to an emergency landing after experiencing some technical difficulties - the pilots heard a small explosion from the plane engine. Wah, if its me I confirm pray to all the gods liao, hear explosion while in the air... this one not tyre puncture wor. This private plane was en-route from Seletar Airport to Melaka, operated by two Singaporean pilots. You might be wondering, why they can go Malaysia with the current COVID situation. But it seems that private planes are still allowed to fly out of Singapore, but they will be subjected to the destination country's COVID restrictions. But ah, end of the day, the pilots really very zai sia, although the highway looks really wide, the plane easily take up all the  lanes already. If I'm the one flying the plane, confirm become like this one:

BMW goes off speeding donning another car's licence plate!

We thought things like this only happens in the movies but as it turns out, there are people doing this in real life as well! As seen on a Facebook post by SG Road Vigilante, the owner of this red 7-seater BMW 216D Grand Tourer wrote in to the page claiming that another BMW 2 Series in a similar shade of red has been using their number plate, chalking up fines they were not responsible for. However, this red 2 Series is a 5-seater variant that is called the Active Tourer and it looks largely similar as you can see from the screenshots taken from BMW Singapore's website.

Reproduced below is an extract from the rightful owner of the plate SGX821M that was in SGRV's post.
Hi, I was notified that you posted a video back in July on a speeding car with my license plate #SGX821M. I would like to highlight that THAT is not my car. Someone is impersonating us using our license plate. I drive a 7 seater BMW 2 series while the car in the video was a 5 seater 2 series. We were issued fines that we are not responsible for. AND my husband literally drove past the idiot this morning bearing our license plate while we were dropping our kids off to school. We couldn’t give chase because we were on opposite sides of the road. I have lodged a police report and have notified the LTA. We are awaiting investigations. If you happen to see the car, please help update the police on its whereabouts. Check out the video of the imposter who was also featured on SGRV before.

Honda Fit gets caught in a battle of egos!

Here's another battle of egos between two drivers.   Spotted on SG Road Vigilante is the video of a camera car going up against a Honda Fit that has a Private-hire decal. It also has a P-plate in case you didn't notice.  To cut to the chase, both drivers ended up facing each other on a single lane road that was filled with other vehicles illegally parked on one side. A not-very-pleased lady then got out of her Honda and went up to the camera car before giving him/her a piece of her mind. We don't hear or see anything from the camera car's end but we reckoned something happened, causing the lady to flash her middle finger before heading back into her Fit. Sadly, we don't get see how this silly battle of pride and ego ends in the video.  In our opinion, both drivers seemed foolish. Is it so hard to just give way so that everyone can move on? Let us know in the comments what you guys think!

Young punk knocked out in one punch from older man in parking lot fight!

Have we found Singapore's 'One-punch-man'? For those who don't know that character, it is a Japanese superhero franchise who features Saitama, a superhero who can defeat any opponent with a single punch and seeks to find a worthy foe after growing bored by a lack of challenge due to his overwhelming strength. Shared among various whatapp chats and from Facebook pages from late last night is this video where by 4 men could be seen fighting in Golden Mile Complex carpark. At around the 27 second mark, this grey singlet dude threw a big one at one of the men, knocking him out clean. Not that we encourage fighting but that is pretty 'One-punch-man' moment.  It is unclear what started the fight. Check out what netizens have to say about this incident!
