blogentry-133713-0-87115600-1412670646_thumb.jpgWith the rise in road rage incidents, having a dog in your vehicle could seem like a good way to protect yourselves from violent motorists... While the guy walking up to the Mitsubishi L200 truck did not actually look very agitated, I am sure he still got a good shock seeing the dog trying to get a piece of him.

Things don't always turn out this way. Check out this video of a dog protecting its owner from the guys in blue.

Otters nearly didn't get to live another day at Orchard Road crossing

Seen on Mothership.sg is a family of otters trying to cross Orchard Road near Plaza Singapura over the weekend. With more than 10 of them in the family, the leader of the pack tried a few times to cross the road despite the heavy traffic.  According to the article, the otters, which were squeaking, turned around twice as they realised it was not the right time to cross yet. We bet it must have been nerve-wrecking for everyone viewing this, especially the last part where a yellow CityCab taxi nearly couldn't stop in time for them. Thankfully, all of them made it across eventually.

Lancer vs Sirocco - who would win in an illegal drag race

Bored because you can't travel? Why not challenge your friends to a drag race and get fined under the Road Traffic Act?

On 18th January, as seen on SG Road Vigilante, a group of approximately eight people were at this illegal drag race. Seems like there were five spectators, two racers and one starter.  It wasn't a very fair race because the starter's hand was blocking the Volkswagen Scirocco. It started later than the Mitsubishi Lancer, who saw a golden opportunity (his view not blocked by the starter) and raced ahead. Where's the sportsmanship, brother?

Though, if you ask me, I think this race wasn't about speed. The race track was short, and the cars were driving carefully. Yknow why? Cuz' slow and steady wins the race.

Some Facebook users were hypothesizing other reasons for the gathering, while others bashed them for their apparent drag racing.
Whatever it is, the uploader shouldn't have bao toh (read: sabotage) his friends. Actually, come to think of it, who was videoing this? Weren't there already eight people in the frame? Or also +1 cameraman?

Edit: Added in the original video source https://www.facebook.com/groups/sgroadshallofshame/permalink/1927162840764549/ for easier reference – leaving it to you guys to decide what this 'drag race' really is.

Mazda 3 with expired road tax rages on camera car

We start off the week with video that happened a week or so ago but only started to trend recently. Seen on SG Road Vigilante, is this particular Mazda 3 driver that became so triggered that he had to get out of his car with vulgarities spewing out of his mouth non stop.  Like all road rage incidents though, it takes two to clap. Thankfully, the camera car driver was honest enough to show what he did that made the Mazda 3 driver so pissed. We could see him honking the Mazda as the road merge at the junction along Bedok North Road, before speeding past the Mazda which also tried to filter into the middle lane due to construction works ahead.  Those two actions probably triggered the Mazda 3 driver bad and when he got to block the camera car, he made sure he was heard by the camera car. Probably not wanting to blow this up, the camera car drove off after the heated exchange of words but the Mazda 3, whose road tax had also expired, gave chase and did some not-very-nice gestures when he caught up... Let us know what are your thoughts on this case of road rage!

Unmarked Mazda 3 Traffic Police car nabs Malaysian bike

Now this is one heartening sight! Our local police force is working hard to catch bad-behaving vehicles on our roads! Seen on SG Road Vigilante is this video of an unmarked Traffic Police vehicle zooming up fast on the AYE towards Tuas to catch a motorbike on 13th of December 2020. We can't really see why the bike was being stopped but according to the source, it is a Malaysian-registered bike with a mini rear number plate.  While having such a number plate is an offence in our sunny island, we thought the police might also be catching the biker for a speeding offence or having a loud exhaust. As for the rest of us, we now know when you see a white Mazda 3, it might not be a Private Hire Vehicle but an Unmarked Traffic Police car!
