blogentry-133713-0-13944700-1414153321_thumb.jpgSeems like the German writers are very keen to give their fellow countrymen advice that they should seriously stay away from fakes. Especially fakes from China that are banned from being sold in their country.

blogentry-133713-0-51131100-1414153334_thumb.jpgYes, the Shuanghuan CEO is officially banned from being sold in Germany because BMW won a court case against them in 2008; saying that the Chinese manufacturer copied its X5 SUV. However, the car is actually on sale in the other parts of Europe.

blogentry-133713-0-63138600-1414153341_thumb.jpgFast forward to present day, one of Germany's automotive publication, Autobild decides to buy one of these fakes to see how well the car has aged in its five years of usage. .

blogentry-133713-0-52820800-1414153349_thumb.jpgNot very well actually. Many parts either rusting or corroding away. The electronics seem to be failing too as the ABS does not seem to be working and there are even dead flies in the headlights. Based on a second generation Mitsubishi Montero/Pajero, it uses one of Mitsubishi's old 2.4-litre inline four to push out an insufficient 123bhp.

blogentry-133713-0-59635700-1414153356_thumb.jpgConvinced that the CEO is one their worst cars ever tested, Autobild then sends the car to its final resting place with some explosives. Admittedly, we felt rather good watching it go up in flames...

China products are flooding the European markets.

At their price point, they are unbeatable. That's why the industry has to trash the product like its the most worthless thing in the world.

  • Is 'tiny living' really irrelevant in Singapore?

I discussed the possibility of living in tiny houses in Singapore in an earlier blog post. But as we know, it isn't an option to begin with – no thanks, of course, to our lack of land space.  Someone also pointed out that the idea of tiny houses is "romanticised" – which, I don't deny (but hey, that's why it's a dream). While it's clear tiny houses aren't going to work out here, the concept of 'tiny living' is; not just physically but also mentally. Anyone who has lived enough years lo
