Volkswagen's ultra hot hatch spied
Rumored to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen's upcoming ultra hot hatch, the Golf R400, has been spied undergoing tests in Germany. It is rumored to have at least 395bhp and would likely go on sale in 2016.
Spied here using the Golf R's body, the bigger wheels with thinner tyres and cross-drilled rotors that feature a wavy shape, gave the game away that this is no ordinary Golf R. The large wing at the rear plus modified front and rear bumpers further emphasize what it might actually be.
Expect the Golf R400 to make use of the 2.0-litre turbo first seen in the Audi TT Quattro Sport Concept and it will likely be paired with a dual-clutch DSG transmission and all-wheel drive as standard. Owners could be looking a 0-100km/h timing of less than 4 seconds and a top speed of around 280km/h if what rumored comes true...
