blogentry-133713-0-56848500-1432127165_thumb.jpgRumored to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen's upcoming ultra hot hatch, the Golf R400, has been spied undergoing tests in Germany. It is rumored to have at least 395bhp and would likely go on sale in 2016.

 

blogentry-133713-0-95386200-1432127190_thumb.jpgSpied here using the Golf R's body, the bigger wheels with thinner tyres and cross-drilled rotors that feature a wavy shape, gave the game away that this is no ordinary Golf R. The large wing at the rear plus modified front and rear bumpers further emphasize what it might actually be.

 

Expect the Golf R400 to make use of the 2.0-litre turbo first seen in the Audi TT Quattro Sport Concept and it will likely be paired with a dual-clutch DSG transmission and all-wheel drive as standard. Owners could be looking a 0-100km/h timing of less than 4 seconds and a top speed of around 280km/h if what rumored comes true...

Although this Golf R is supposedly AWD and boasts a higher power output than the new Civic Type R turbo, I would love to see them go head to head on a racetrack. That's also if the DSG doesn't fail halfway..

    I discussed the possibility of living in tiny houses in Singapore in an earlier blog post.
