Tomato throwing festival damages Google Street View car
La Tomatina, a yearly festival in which participants throw tomatoes and get involved in this tomato fight purely for fun, damages Google's Street View car.
Held in the Valencian town of Buñol, a town located 30 km from the Mediterranean, this year's festival was probably a little bit too rowdy for the car as it was caught in the crossfire due to a scheduling error.
With 30,000 or so happy participants fighting it out, things seemed to have turned a bit violent towards the car which was actually there to record the aftermath of the festival, in an effort to “capture the magic and color that flooded the streets of Buñol during this festival.”
Guess we won't be seeing the images as the camera that was mounted on the roof of the car was damaged. The car itself suffered some some serious dents too.
