blogentry-133713-0-96990900-1471749805_thumb.jpgDodge's Charger and Challenger SRT pair became famous after it got the company's range topping engine 6.2-litre supercharged V8 707bhp engine. But it wasn't suppose to be that powerful.

Reported by Detroit Freep, the engineers were were actually targeting the 600bhp mark which is a crazy figure in its own right. However, once the team got news that the 2013 Ford Mustang GT500 had 662bhp, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) thought they could do better and set their sights on 675bhp while being as fuel-efficient as the original 600bhp target.

Then things got more interesting then when the main powertrain engineer behind the Hellcat, Chris Cowland told his team that he was looking at 707bhp and wanted to keep that infamous figure secret during the engine's development. When dyno charts were needed, it only available to the small team developing the engine, hidden from everyone else at FCA.

Thanks to Cowland, the Challenger SRT Hellcat and Charger SRT Hellcat stunned the world when it was revealed with so much horsepower from the factory.

The end of CB does not stop PMDs from riding on the road

With the end of the Circuit Breaker measures, more people have resumed working, creating more traffic on our roads. But that has not stop this rider from riding recklessly on his Personal Mobility Device (PMD) in Sembawang. As reported by SG Road Vigilante, the rider can be seen overtaking a car that is moving away from the traffic lights before keeping up to speed with it. In fact, the video which was shot on the 4th of June, showed the rider overtaking a motorcycle in the next lane. Judging from the 20 seconds plus clip, we reckon he could have been doing twice the legal speed limit of PMDs (25km/h). Naturally, netizens were quick to slam him... Should we be tolerating this? Watch the video of the PMD rider here! 101385818_2673239402892083_8980883442018037830_n.mp4

Mitsubishi Lancer and Audi TT survive one close shave!

Now that is one close shave. As seen on SG Road Vigilante's facebook page, an Audi TT failed to stop at the give way line, nearly crashing into a Mitsubishi Lancer Ex which had the right of way on 29th of April  Eagle-eyed readers would have definitely spotted the P-plate sign on the Audi, signaling to us that this might just be a rookie's honest mistake. In our opinion, we thought the camera car would have gotten a larger shock, seeing the Lancer swerve into his lane along Sengkang West Road. On another note, should the Lancer have slowed down instead of (recklessly)accelerating into the camera car's lane?  Let us know in the comments below! 94921823_310296959954310_3878032568351719424_n.mp4

Singer rants on Facebook about cars making "loud explosive noise"

A popular local Singer/Songwriter has taken to her facebook page to rant about cars making loud explosive noises where she lives. 1 bang 2.mp4 In her post, Beverly Morata Grafton pointed out in her post she has been experiencing "exhausts have been popping off like gunshots from 10:30pm and counting. And like every weekend since mid April, they will do so until 4am plus in the morning..."  From her photos and videos that she provided, we gathered that these incidents happenen along Yishun Ave 1, where Sinopec Yishun is situated at. This stretch has a speed camera but car enthusiasts are known to still gun their cars there while heading towards the Yishun Dam. We will not go into the rest of her post as it can be a bit demeaning and vulgar. For those who are curious, you can view her post below. In the video that was taken on the 25th of April, we could identify a white Volkswagen Golf accelerating away quickly from the petrol station before letting off some loud bangs, much to the annoyance of the songwriter.     Being a post on the writer's personal page, it was no surprise to find the comments supporting her views.    But what do you guys think? More pops and bangs for everyone? Or should we cooperate for quieter neighbourhoods?

BMW M2 Competition crashes into bus stop

Most of us must be cursing and swearing when the alarm clock rang this morning, as the weather was perfect for sleeping in thanks to the morning thunderstorm. We have almost no doubt that the BMW driver in the following photos must be really angry with himself too! The following photos have been in circulation around social media platorms since the morning of 13 May 2020. Not much is known about the cause of the accident but the it did occur to us that this crash happened between Kallang Road and Geylang Road. The wet roads caused by the rain in the morning might have caused the BMW M2 Competition driver to lose control. With more than 400bhp going to the rear wheels, this is one very 'driftable' weapon...
