blogentry-114362-0-40514200-1529550338_thumb.jpgRed Bull has revealed it’ll be using Honda engines in 2019 and 2020 – finally ditching Renault PUs. The move comes after 12 years under Renault power, with four of those yielding drivers’ championships for Sebastian Vettel.

blogentry-114362-0-81183600-1529550510_thumb.jpgIt’s been no secret that the Milton Keynes-based team has been weighing up which power unit to use for the past three months. Despite early successes with Vettel, Red Bull has openly criticised its Renault supplier in the hybrid era. With Mercedes and Ferrari unwilling to supply engines to such a close competitor, Honda was the only other viable option.

Thanks to its involvement in the Honda-powered Toro Rosso team, Red Bull has been able to analyse the progress of both the Japanese engine and its own Renault unit over the course of the season – and it felt Honda had better performance.

The move also sees Red Bull go the opposite way to McLaren - a pretty surprising decision when you consider Honda’s sub-par performance for the past three years. From 2015 to 2017, McLaren and Honda suffered some seriously poor results, with extreme packaging resulting in an engine that just wasn’t powerful or reliable enough.

However, with Red Bull privy to both sets of engine data, the Honda must be the better choice going forward; perhaps McLaren has made the wrong decision again? Time will tell...

Either way, it’ll be interesting how Red Bull Honda fares next year. For the past few years, Red Bull has produced one of the best chassis, and it’s only been the engine that has prevented its cars from being championship contenders. Perhaps Red Bull Honda will see Adrian Newey’s cars back consistently on the top step.

Honda fail to produce good results for McLaren during the 3-4 years but it doesn't mean Honda will not improve in the coming years. It's just that McLaren has run out of patience and for RedBull they have run out of options (they need to move forward after the 12years working with Renault, Merc and Ferrari won't supply engines to their close rivals).

Honda Shuttle driver blocks everyone from moving at Katong

Now this is a good one for debating. Do you think the lady in the Honda Shuttle is wrong, or its just the taxi driver being difficult? As shown on SG Road Vigilante's page, a clip shot by a Premier taxi driver, shows a lady in her Honda Shuttle blocking the drop off/pickup point of Katong Shopping Center on 7th of Aug 2020. The reason she is blocking everyone is that she wanted to reverse into the parallel lot beside the taxi but in order for her to do so, all the cars, including the taxi behind, her has to reverse. Now that can be quite a hassle to everyone... So without seeing the first part of this incident, could it be that the taxi driver was being difficult from the start and could have just reversed for her to go into the lot? Or do you guys reckoned that the Honda driver was just a little bit too self-entitled?

This is not the way to do an Aventador convoy!

Last weekend saw the tragic accident of a BMW driver who was flung out of his E92 3 Series convertible along PIE. Condolences to the poor soul who did not survive the crash. Last weekend also saw the not-so-tragic accident of two Lamborghini Aventadors crashing into each other along Sembawang Road on 7 June. The photos of the 2 lamborghinis which crashed into each other went viral among local car clubs with SG Road Vigilante further furnishing us with the video shown here.  According to the SGRV's post, the owners of the Aventadors removed their number plates promptly after the accident but its members could spot the similar black bonnet, black strip , white brake caliper and etc. that was similar to another yellow Lamborghini Aventador which was caught driving recklessly at Newton.     Check out what netizens have to say about this double crash!
Is this a case of 'you get what you deserve'? Or do you guys think the crash is a loss to our local car scene?

Bentley slams into the rear of a Honda City, leaving many to speculate on just what the Honda driver was doing!

Some people don't deserve to drive. Watch the video below and see whether you agree with our harsh comment or not. Posted by My Grandfather's Road, another traffic-shaming facebook page, is this video of a Honda City that almost came to a complete stop while on the first lane of the ECP.  It is unclear how long ago this accident happened as the in-car camera video dates the incident on the 27th of Dec 2019 but the post was published today, 22nd of July 2020. We have no idea why the Honda driver attempted to slow down. Could it be that he or she realised that there is an exit and wanted to turn off at the last minute?

Netizens dig out black Golf GTI driver's former antics

Remember the black Volkswagen mk5 Golf GTI that was spotted racing on CTE at night with an Mitsubishi Evo X before causing a van to crash and flip? Here's a recent cum compilation video of the GTI causing havoc on our roads. As you guys can see these are some pretty reckless driving. A big no-no when dashcams are everywhere. And yes how could we forget the ever-increasing number of Facebook pages that shame bad drivers. Naturally, the comments section on SG Road Vigilante's page has its supporters slamming the driver. On a less serious note, the GTI is a pretty good point and shoot car with its fast-acting DSG box and turbo engine eh?
