blogentry-129174-0-31832300-1530522931_thumb.jpg More than 30 MyCarForum (MCF) members gathered at the Autobacs Ubi outlet at Ubi View on Saturday morning to attend the MCF Hangout with Sonax. The focus of the event was to provide MCF members with the necessary knowledge and skills to care for their cars, and the range of Sonax products available.

During the event, a representative from Sonax conducted a workshop on the importance of preventive maintenance for your car's exterior. Thereafter, a hands on session was conducted to illustrate the proper ways to wash and clean a car, both for the exterior as well as the cabin. These tips included the proper methods of washing a car, the appropriate products to use to protect the car's paintwork, as well as tips on grooming the car's interior.

blogentry-129174-0-29223100-1530523197_thumb.jpg Three Sonax products were highlighted during the MCF Hangout. The first is the Sonax Xtreme Wash+Protect Wash and Sealant. It is a car shampoo that provides a mirror shine, as well as a long lasting water and dirt repellant effect. It can also be used on vehicles that already have a layer of paint protection to revitalise the water repellant effect.

The second product is the Sonax Xtreme Spray+Protect Spray-on Sealant, a convenient spray-on sealant that offers lasting protection and dirt repellency. On top of the body panels, it can be used on your car's rims as well.

The third product is the Sonax Xtreme Leather care foam NanoPro, which is ideal for cleaning and conditioning leather seats and other leather interior fittings in the car. It removes dirt, oil and grease while simultaneously making the leather extremely supple, while real beeswax assures long term protection. It also contains no dyes, and can be used on leathers of all colours.

A lucky draw was also held, with the lucky winners walking home with Sonax products worth up to $150.

Watch this Alfa Romeo flip along Havelock road after hitting a tree!

A video from @SG Road Vigilante has been circulating showing an Alfa Romeo hitting the road kerb before lurching to the right and flipping over!   The incident happened along the long stretch of road before the State Courts and the Ministry of Manpower. The car suffered extensive damage throughout this incident. Credits: Mothership It is definitely a well-loved car, with one sgCarMart consumer reviewer, Michaelkoh, describing the car as something, "Under the radar gem. (With) Striking design and styling without the excessive price tag. Definitely a top consideration for those looking for cars in the $100-120k range." After searching on our sgCarMart used car section, we found that there isn't any current pre-owned Giuletta in the market. If you guys are looking out for an Alfa Romeo Giulietta for your next ride, please keep a lookout for one with an uneven sloping roof and perhaps tyres that are painted with "POTENZA" in white.

Owner unwilling to pay after workshop rendered service

A post about a customer who refused to pay after a battery replacement workshop rendered its services has gone viral online. Spotted on its own facebook page, FastFix Car Battery Replacement Service explained how the whole issue came about.  It wrote in its post that its client, Mr C, reached out to them saying that he needed help as his car could not start. After listening to the symptoms the car showed( car still cranks and aircon is not as strong as before), the workshop concluded that it needed a new battery. However, upon reaching Mr C, whose car was parked in the CBD and hence the need to pay for ERP charges, the guys from FastFix realised that it wasn't the battery that needed replacing.

Concluding that there was nothing the guys from FastFix could do to help, Mr C was then asked to pay for the labour fee that had been pointed out before in their Whatsapp conversation. Unfortunately, Mr C disagreed and refused to pay the $50 that they had agreed on as nothing has been done to his Kia.  There was not much FastFix could do which probably prompted them to 'share their story' of the client on their facebook page.     Here are some of the notable comment in the post.

Grab driver and his male passenger thinks of others before self in a nasty Thanksgiving car accident

Have you ever watched a car accident video and told yourself in your head that “heng ah, it wasn’t me or someone I know”? I guess it’s human nature. The truth of the matter is – Even if you’re the safest driver in the world, all it takes is just one idiot driver to mess it up for you. So what happens if it happens to you or someone within your social circle? Read on to find out. Sometime in the evening yesterday, 28th November 2019, I received a message from one of my closest friends. It was an image of his heavily damaged Honda Freed. That’s how heavily damaged it was. The cause? This Lorry. It was a pretty bone-chilling sight, but the fact that he was messaging me meant that he was fine, so that was a relief. Eventually, he sent over the video footage of the accident. The video includes both the rear and dashcam footage. In the video, my friend, the Freed Driver, let’s call him Jeff, for privacy sake, is filtering into an expressway. A lorry follows suit, loses control and charges straight into the back of the Freed, shattering the glass on the rear windscreen. Also, that's a damn loud bang.  In the car There’s no in-car footage, but you can hear a brief exchange of conversations between three people in the car – Jeff and his two passengers. Jeff and the other guy were worried about whether anyone was injured, but the lady, presumably in shock, could only think of one thing. She was carrying Thanksgiving potluck food with her when the crash happened, and you can hear her go “Oh no! The gravy casserole’s everywhere!” Whut? Image taken from bigover.com This is what Casserole looks like. Anyhoo, I’m glad all parties are fine. RIP Casserole. You perished so that others could live. The best Thanksgiving dish yet.

A woman being a PUBIC nuisance on Middle Road. No, that's not a typo

You probably have seen a video that went viral recently about a woman removing her clothes in anger on Middle Road. She even went as far as pulling down her panties! If you haven’t, here’s the video courtesy of Roads.sg In the video, you can see a woman taking off her clothes in response to a man (a cab driver) walking away from her. She is believed to have done this to play the victim card and make false accusations that the cab driver was the one who did it to her. Crucial eye witness account An eye witness of the incident posted the video on Roads.sg According to the witness, he saw the lady kicking the cab. She then began chasing the cab driver, scratching, punching and going all bat shit crazy. The driver did not retaliate to her provocation. So what triggered this? There have been no reports (as of yet) as to what led to this behaviour, but theories are being thrown around on social media. Even I would be offended. At least give me $10 What happened in the end In a recent STOMP article posted earlier today, it’s been confirmed that the lady, a 31-year old woman was arrested for PUBLIC nuisance. Yeap, I spelt that one right. You can read the full article here
