Mitsubishi Triton facelift revealed
Mitsubishi has revised its L200 a.k.a Triton pick-up truck. The refreshed truck will go on sale in Thailand first.
Wearing the latest ‘Dynamic Shield’ front design aesthetic and a high engine hood line, the truck looks more modern now compared to its predecessor. On the topic of modernisation, on-board technology has also been given a boost with Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation and the Multi Around Monitor, all included in the truck for the higher end models.
Elsewhere, the Triton 4WD can be fitted either with Super-Select 4WD (for optimum traction and handling), or Easy-Select 4WD, which simplifies the switching of the offroad driving modes .
When in use, the off-road mode controls engine power, transmission and braking to regulate the amount of wheel slip. Hill Descent Control system is present to allow the driver to negotiate steep or slippery descents.
Despite using the existing 2.4 litre MIVEC turbodiesel that outputs 179bhp and 430Nm of torque, the Triton has been fitted with larger front discs and calipers, larger rear dampers, and has replaced the current five-speed automatic transmission with a six-speed one, for better acceleration and economy.
