Mick Schumacher, son of multiple Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher, got his first taste of a Formula 1 car recently at the Bahrain International Circuit.

As reported by BBC Sport, the 20-year old Schumacher drove Ferrari’s 2019 car, the SF90, throughout the day and set the second fastest lap, being beaten only by Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen. He did a total of 56 laps and set a best time of 1 minute 29.976 seconds on the softest and fastest tires available. In comparison, he was 2.11 seconds slower than Charles Leclerc's pole position time on Saturday.

“I really enjoyed today. It felt like home in the garage from the very first moment with a lot of people that know me since I was very young.

“The SF90 is incredible because of the power it has, but it is also smooth to drive, and that’s why I enjoyed myself so much. I was impressed by the braking power an F1 car has. It seemed to me you could brake later and later and the car would have made the turn anyway.”

Schumacher also made his Formula Two debut at the same circuit over the weekend and got to drive Alfa Romeo’s 2019 car during the third day of Bahrain testing.

Accord driver goes bersek and lets camera car rear end him

After watching this clip that was spotted on SG Road Vigilante, we can't help but see the importance of being able keep our own temper in control. Losing one's temper is easy and when not kept in check, you might end up doing something you will regret in the future. Shot on the evening of 26th of September 2020 along Central Blvd, a Honda Accord can be seen in the video cutting in from the left of the camera car at high speed before slamming onto its brakes real hard. The camera car, which itself seems to be going along at quite some speed, could not stop in time and crashed into the Accord as the result. While no one can confirm the Accord driver's intention, it is almost safe to say that he just wanted to let the camera knock into him by braking hard to a stop for no reason. As it was a slight bump, no one was hurt. The Accord driver then got out calmly and proceed to take some photos. So guys, what do you reckon? Is this part of a road rage incident which the camera car's footage did not show? Or is it an insurance scam? Or is it a combination of both? Let us know in the comments below!

Heavy rains expose deadly section of PIE

With the weather turning slightly wetter in the recent days, this part of the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) is turning out to be quite deadly. Shared by the 'good samaritans' of SG Road Vigilante, someone has been recording from his/her apartment some of the accidents that happened at the Jalan Anak Bukit flyover towards the direction of Jurong. As we can all see, all the four incidents had the drivers losing control of the rear of their vehicles as they crest over the left hand turn. Some of drivers looked like they oversped but not every one was doing so. We guessed these drivers all lifted off the accelerator abruptly and/or had bad tyres at the rear while negotiating the turn, causing their vehicles to go into oversteer.  LTA has made this corner less treacherous than before in the recent years but it still does seem to catch quite a few drivers out. Other than having good tyres, our advice when approaching the corner is to maintain your speed and to obviously keep to the speed limit.   P.S. this corner does remind us of the infamous corner, Eau Rouge of the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Watch the clip and see how cars go off the corner as they lose the rear of their cars in that deadly turn.

This is why power is nothing without control

We always hear the phrase "power is nothing without control"  In this latest blog post, we now can show you exactly what that phrase means. Shared furiously among many Whatapp chats is a video of a recent accident involving a Nissan R35 GT-R losing control in one of the tunnels of the CTE. The matt silver GT-R which does not look stock at all, should be producing quite a bit more than the stock 480bhp (an remap will easily bring the power figures near 600bhp). It can be seen barreling along the tunnel on 11 July 2020 at quite a high speed before losing it all and smashing into the rear of a Mercedes-Benz CLS350.  What did you think made the driver lose control of his AWD GT-R? Could it be a case of malfunction on the car that caused the car to go bonkers? Let us in the comment box!

Law-breaking cyclists get into chain collision!

We wonder if these group of cyclists are aware that the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing when they ride in such a large group.. Posted by the people from SG Road Vigilante on 7th of Aug 2020 is a video of a large group of cyclist riding together seriously before a crash causes a chain collision of bicycles. Some of us might find the accident funny while some would be shocked at how dangerous riding on the road could be. We just hope that everyone recovers well from their fall. Of course, such a post will put netizens into a commenting frenzy where everyone will be slamming the cyclists for road-hogging and riding in a group of more than five.  Do you feel that these large gatherings should be stopped? Or do you feel that more and more cyclists are taking advantage of our roads? Let us know...
