A Tennessee-based Ford dealership specializing in Roush-tuned Mustangs has developed a real corker to celebrate this year's 50th anniversary of when a GT40 in Gulf Oil livery won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. That was back in 1969, though the same car, also wearing the Gulf Oil livery, was also a winner at the 1968 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The special Mustang honoring those wins has been developed by Brown Lee Ford of Nashville, Tennessee. It's called the Brown Lee Performance Gulf Heritage Mustang, and just 119 examples will be built, each priced from $139,995.

That's a steep price to pay for a Mustang, especially with the Shelby GT500 offering up 760 horsepower for just $73,995. Well, Brown Lee Ford's Mustang goes further with an output of 808 horsepower and 677 pound-feet of torque generated by its 5.0-liter supercharged V-8. Paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or 10-speed automatic, the engine will rocket the car from 0-60 mph in as low as 3.3 seconds and past the quarter-mile in under 10.7 seconds.

Beyond the supercharger, the Brown Lee Ford team upgraded the fuel injectors and added high-flow intake and exhaust systems, as well as intercooler. There's also track-tuned suspension, carbon fiber aero elements including a wicker bill spoiler, a few unique interior appointments, and of course the famous Gulf Oil livery. And for a bit of peace of mind, the car even comes with a 3-year/36,000 mile limited warranty.

“We are incredibly proud to have this opportunity to honor the Ford and Gulf racing legacy in such a special build,” said Brock Patterson, Brown Lee Ford's global specialty vehicle manager. “With over 800 horsepower carrying this licensed icon from 0-60 mph in under 3.5 seconds, the Gulf Heritage Edition Mustang pays homage to the accomplishments of the Ford and Gulf racing teams from 50 years ago, on all levels.”

The Brown Lee Performance Gulf Heritage Mustang will be presented on August 18 at the 2019 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The event caps Monterey Car Week which is currently under way. For our complete coverage on the event, head to our dedicated hub.

Honda Shuttle driver blocks everyone from moving at Katong

Now this is a good one for debating. Do you think the lady in the Honda Shuttle is wrong, or its just the taxi driver being difficult? As shown on SG Road Vigilante's page, a clip shot by a Premier taxi driver, shows a lady in her Honda Shuttle blocking the drop off/pickup point of Katong Shopping Center on 7th of Aug 2020. The reason she is blocking everyone is that she wanted to reverse into the parallel lot beside the taxi but in order for her to do so, all the cars, including the taxi behind, her has to reverse. Now that can be quite a hassle to everyone... So without seeing the first part of this incident, could it be that the taxi driver was being difficult from the start and could have just reversed for her to go into the lot? Or do you guys reckoned that the Honda driver was just a little bit too self-entitled?

Watch how egos got the better of both these cars (Maserati crashed!)

Not happy with being overtaken or high beamed at? Why not try jamming your brakes so that the car that offended you can crash into you?  That's what this Maserati Quattroporte driver did when the camera car behind beamed him. According SG Road Vigilante's post, the accident happened on the wee hours of 5th of Aug 2020 along Keppel Road. In the video, we can see the camera car trying to overtake both the Mercedes Vito and the Maserati but was blocked a couple of times. Both vehicles were apparently friends or colleagues from the same company and once the Maserati managed to overtake the camera car, the Maserati jammed his brakes suddenly, causing the camera car, which we reckon from that turbo flutter and gearshift, an Audi A4, to crash into it. The Maserati's occupants then came out, demanding the camera car driver to get out and "settle things". After some aggressive exchange of words, the Maserati just drove off as if nothing happened. Weird In our opinion, this is just one side of the story as we have no idea what the camera car driver did to anger the Maserati driver. Accidents like this usually takes two hands to clap. What do you guys reckon? Let us know!

PHV drivers brought the heat up on pre-cooling off day

As everyone should know, today, 9th of July 2020 is the cooling off day for GE2020 and it so happened that the weather is pretty cool after the morning downpour.  That said, things were not so cool for these two Private Hire drivers yesterday.  As seen on Sg Road Vigilante, a video of two PHV drivers turning the heat up (for the wrong reasons) has been spotted.  No one knows what they they were fighting for but we can almost safely assume it is due to one of them not giving way to the other or something similar like that at this NEX taxi stand in Serangoon. It then seemed like a causally-dressed (weird) taxi driver tried to stop them. Kudos for him. What really amused us was the replies in the comments section. Check them out!

Overzealous Megane RS loses it and crashes into the barriers

Another high-performance car has been spotted in a crash while going at a good speed. Our latest post shows a Black Renault Megane RS going at a decent speed before losing control while stepping on his brakes.  e166fed5-f4f3-4fbc-b00b-9de415dbd071.MP4 From the video, we can see that the driver was trying to avoid the road works in his lane but curiously, the car seems to have malfunctioned while he was on his brakes. If you looked at the video carefully, you could see straight black lines on the road, indicating that the tyres locked up before he slammed into the left side of the viaduct before bouncing across into the opposite barrier. While it did seem like the Megane was at or slightly above the speed limit, the crash is quite a mystery to us as under normal circumstances, there is more than sufficient space to stop or avoid the roadworks. What do you guys think? Could it be a brake failure, tyre puncture or a case of the driver falling asleep at the wheel? Let us know in the comments below!
