Watching your children grow up can be richly rewarding. Having them go on their first drives, perhaps not as much.

Take the edge off that inevitable nerve-wrecking experience by signing up with Aviva's Prestige plan and be assured that even if your teenagers do get into an accident, professional assistance is but a call away with Aviva's Quick Emergency assistance, eCall.

Thanks to an easily installed Bosch safety device, real-time crash detection will automatically alert Aviva's emergency team with data about the crash severity and the car's location if you or your teenage children get involved in an accident. The emergency team can then call you or utilise the information to send accurate information to emergency services immediately. Think about this: In a severe accident, those precious seconds and the delivery of accurate data could genuinely help to save the lives of your precious ones.

Not convinced? Then also consider this - Aviva's Prestige plan also provides coverage without any additional excess for young or inexperienced drivers, allowing you to cover every driver in the household without incurring high auto insurance costs.

Even if nothing on the road fazes you anymore, a good car insurance plan is still a must to ensure that you do not end up facing mounting medical expenditures in the event of a severe accident.

Plan and make sure you do not have to face that harsh doctor's bill head-on with Aviva's high medical expense coverage of up to $100,000 on their Standard and Prestige plan.

With the Prestige plan, you still get to enjoy the benefits of eCall, ensuring that Quick Emergency assistance is always on hand to render assistance, just in case you get so shaken up that you fail to note down all the information you need to report on the accident.

This might be a good way to get a new car for free

Spotted on the facebook page "private hire sg cars/partners - grab, gojek, ryde, tada etc", someone posted a photo of a fender bender between a BMW and a Toyota and we were shocked by how much you can claim if you were involved in such a accident. This should not cost too much to repair right? Oh wait till you see the final amount submitted by the surveyor. Yup, you saw it right. The cost of repairs on the BMW E60 5 Series would amount to a staggering $88,000.  To put that into perspective, you can buy yourself a similar BMW coupled with a new 10-year COE and lots of change left for petrol and parking. Others on the post agreed too that this is one really over inflated amount. That said, there were some who thought that the is not the actual amount that was asked for...  Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on who's point of view, that is the discharge voucher which you could say is going to be the actual amount paid out. Of course quite a few felt that this is wrong... Let us know what you readers think of this in the comments below! UPDATE: There are some rumors that the discharge form was meant for a Lamborghini Gallardo and not the two cars as pictured above. ----------------------------------------------- Want to know if there are any more BMW 5 Series you could buy with $88,000, check out our used car pages! -----------------------------------------------

Yoga Teacher throws a tantrum at Grab driver when she does not "get her way."

A recent YouTube video of a lady berating a Grab driver with verbal insults is going viral. If you haven't already watched it, here's the link to the video. You’re welcome. Do note how the person who submitted the video titled it, it's important.    In the video, the lady wants her driver to make a U-Turn and head towards her destination by her preferred route. The driver refuses and tells her that it's the Grab driver's discretion to choose to listen to the rider or follow the fastest route as indicated on the GPS.  In this case, he flat out refused because he was scared there would be a traffic jam. We went to do a little digging and ta-dah! It turns out he was right!   Image taken from Grab.com The lady should have kept her cool and Googled whether the driver's claim was true, but of course, she didn't. She starts to "play family" which was very uncalled for. Here are some of her comments: Image taken from Traffic SG Facebook page Why lah? Why? What did his family do to you? Screenshot of video from Traffic SG Facebook page Naturally, the driver gets offended by her rude comments and starts shooting his mouth off to her as well. He questions her marital status out of nowhere. I honestly thought he was going to talk about another part of the male body. The lady goes on to tell the driver that "if he represents what Singaporean men are, no one needs to get married." By now, you should be curious as to how the lady looks like. Throughout the whole video, the spotlight is on the driver and she doesn’t show her face, but we found her.   Taken from balispiritfestival.worldsecuresystems.com Wait a minute. Anybody have anything to say? Of course they do! Image taken from Traffic SG Facebook page Me and you sister!  If you want the driver to follow your preferred route in the future then here's a helpful suggestion from a member of the public.   Image taken from Traffic SG Facebook page Very wise words. The lady's Facebook page have since been deactivated. ----------------------------------------------- Worried that you too might be an obnoxious passenger? Check out the most irritating behaviors that we face as drivers! -----------------------------------------------

VEP delayed till 2020 or maybe when your grandchildren have children

If you've been one of the "kan cheong" people waiting to get your Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) approved before driving into Malaysia, here's some good news for you - The implementation of the VEP scheme will only commence next year. According to The Straits Times, Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke claimed that the delay is due to the system's inability to cope with the exponential number of vehicles that needed to install the RFID tag. It seems that many Singaporeans are not surprised by this delay. It’s not the first time that there has been a delay with the implementation of the VEP and you can be sure people were quick to call that out.  And some people make pretty sound arguments. Wait, does this mean that Singaporean car owners with the RFID tags did the application and probably wasted a weekend queueing up in Malaysia for nothing? Sounds about right.  Malaysia Boleh? Case closed. ----------------------------------------------- Still wondering how to get your VEP? We went through the entire process so you can have this handy guide here! -----------------------------------------------

MX-5 lady left note to criticise Volvo driver’s parking. Plot twist made me Google meaning of the word “Sanctimonious”.

Imagine parking your car like you passed your driving test on the first try and then returning to your car with this note on the windscreen -     Did you really park like an idiot? Who left the note? Did they get hurt while getting out of their car from the passenger side? So many questions. To the car camera for answers.     Here’s our supposedly wronged and potentially injured party arriving in an MX-5. Very good choice of car. After 30 seconds of parking and having to exit the car from the passenger side, the lady comes out to take a photo of the “offending” Volvo S60.     She spends about 10 seconds taking photos of the car from multiple angles. We know the Volvo S60 looks good from any angle. After walking one round inspecting the car like it was at the front gate of an army camp, she leaves her note.     Did the Volvo driver park like an idiot? Well here’s the tea.     I can hear you screaming: “Lies! The driver probably took this photo at another lot! No way someone will park in that spot! Not even the nimble Miata!” Here’s the other photo.     At least the Volvo driver was nice enough to mask out the MX-5’s plate.   Here’s the full video uploaded on SG Road Vigilante:   And “Sanctimonious” means “making a show of being morally superior to other people.”   ----------------------------------------------- Impressed by how the MX-5 can fit into snug places? Here are some for sale.   Or maybe you're leaning more on the innocent Volvo S60? We've got you covered here too!   -----------------------------------------------
