They just swerved from whatever lane with slowing traffic to what lane with faster traffic. :/

No doubt a costly consequence. But regardless, I hope those involved in the accident are doing fine.

Exactly!! Some amber light go faster, but halfway realised cmi then jam brake🙄

Also another bad habit is that instead of stopping before zebra crossing to give way to pedestrians, the drivers just nonchalantly drive through and expect that pedestrians to stop and give way to them instead (I know in China it is like that though....) :/
