Inexperienced Mazda 3 driver shows us why we die die must have car insurance

Another day, another joker on the road getting what he deserves for his reckless driving.

What happened

In the wee hours of the morning, a Mazda 3 driver is seen driving down Admiralty Road right beside a large garbage truck.

Wanting to filter to his right, the car flashes its right indicator lights to signal its intention. This is when things start to go horribly wrong.

Instead of letting the truck pass, the Mazda driver fails to check for safety and starts to drift to the right.

The weird thing about his behaviour is that he actually slows down right in front of the large truck as his vehicle performs the lane change.

As a result, the car ends up getting hit in the rear by the garbage truck and continues along the road for a while before coming to a stop.

It is unclear if the Mazda driver had hit the brakes on purpose or by accident.

Additionally, the fact that the Mazda kept going after getting hit could mean that the driver did not realise that he had been hit.

A great example of why all drivers die die must have insurance

It is important to note that the Mazda 3 driver carries a P plate, which is a probationary license plate that should be put on display at the top-right portion of the front and back windscreens of new drivers. The plate can be taken down after a year of valid driving experience.

As such, it is critical that all drivers, especially P-platers, have insurance in case of accidents like this.

Annual premiums for car insurance typically start at $850, and the amount that you pay is determined by your age, your occupation, the amount of driving experience you have, your car model, and your claims history.

For P platers and drivers below the age of 27, car premiums are through the roof as insurers deem these drivers to possess a higher level of risk of getting into accidents.

P-platers, no matter the situation, there is no reason good enough to justify driving and switching lanes recklessly. Stay safe out there!

P plates that don't drive in the first year and only after that is more dangerous.

Fortunately, not all P plates are like that because I'm a good example

Lorry goes full throttle to beat a red light, only to collide head-on into the side of a taxi

Cross-junctions have and always will be a dangerous section of any road. It is essentially an intersection with the most concentrated traffic, which poses additional hazards to road users. One such hazard is being a victim to vehicles that beat the red light, such as this one: What Happened? This unfortunate accident took place at a cross-junction along Boon Lay Drive.  Firstly, let's take a look at an overview of the location below: Upon the green light signal, a ComfortDelgro taxi on the left lane, intending to travel straight, gradually approached the junction.  Just then, a lorry from the right beat the red light and smashed head-first into the driver-side of the taxi. The lorry was travelling at a relatively fast speed as it seemed to have gone full-throttle and accelerated in an attempt to beat the red light "successfully".  NGL, the impact of the collision was a rather strong one. Both vehicles came to a complete halt moments later, after striking a kerb.  A Sitting Duck The taxi was essentially a sitting duck that had no way of mitigating the danger posed by the oncoming lorry.  Despite the traffic signal that indicated it was clear for the taxi to proceed, its view of the oncoming lorry was completely obstructed by another lorry on the discretionary right turn lane beside it.  Be it to perform an emergency brake or swerve; it was almost impossible for any driver to have responded in such a situation. Here's wishing the taxi driver and all those involved in the accident a speedy recovery! Netizens' Comments GWS😰 Tell me about it. Especially all those commercial driving on lane 1 of the expressways🙄 The last time I checked, being a victim of an accident is not a good thing. Van driver bullies a foreign cyclist by impeding his path and splashing water on him when confronted

TL:DR – A van driver displays the ugly side of humanity and intentionally cuts a cyclist’s path. When the cyclist confronts the driver, the driver threatens to call the police, makes snide remarks about the cyclist’s visa (he’s a foreigner) and even splashes water on him.   While we usually see stories on MyCarForum about errant cyclists, today happens to be slightly different. Today, we watch the ugly side of humanity displayed by a ‘guai lan’ van driver who needs to get beat up. Watch this 5-min long video to understand why. The audio is a little out of sync though. What led to this confrontation? Yes, the exciting bits are at the start of the video. However, if you watch the whole video, the trigger was when the van driver overtook the bicycle and swerved into its path without adhering to the 1.5m safety distancing rule. Clearly. the driver had no intention to let the cyclist through. Road bullying at its worst If that wasn’t enough, the driver even threatened the foreign cyclist. Here are some quotes from the conversation The driver even splashes two bottles of liquid on the cyclist. If you've always wondered whether a Ferrari 458 is stronger than a bollard, here's your answer

Bollards are an essential safety feature put in place by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to reduce the impact and severity of an accident between an errant motorist and pedestrians.  Over the years, many motorists have attempted to test the bollard's rigidity and robustness:  However, one thing in common is that all these cars failed against the bollard. Watch this video to see the aftermath of a Ferrari 458 going head-to-head against a bollard: What Happened? A blue Ferrari 458 Speciale crashed head-first into a bollard at the junction of Marina Boulevard. Below is a Google Maps view of the accident location: Needless to say, the Ferrari's bonnet was a complete wreck. Due to its rear-engine location, the Ferrari was still driveable. Despite the significant damages, the Ferrari driver was persistent in shifting his car off the pedestrian pavement that he mounted for some weird reason. Moments later, the police arrived on the scene.  On Closer Look The location was oddly familiar after looking at the accident site using Google Maps. I then realised it turned out to be the same location as the "Mitsubishi Lancer Vs Bollard" accident mentioned above! Isn't it weirdly coincidental? Netizens' Comments If it was a front-engine, can send the car to the scrapyard straightaway. Thanks LTA! Cam Car driver’s wife gives him one hell of a lecture for high beaming and provoking a Mercedes GLA

TL:DR – A Mercedes GLA brake checks a cam car driver for high beaming him. Cam car driver’s wife then explodes into a 3-minute lecture and telling off while the tunes of Baby Shark drone on repeat in the background. Poor cam car driver cannot catch a break.   We’ve all had bad days in our lives. But what this cam car driver just went through, is a winner. Watch this 6min+ video to find out what I mean. The important bits are from the start to about the 3min 20second mark   So let’s list down how the cam car driver’s day gets from bad to worst The domino effect starts with the GLA Rear footage from the cam car shows us a black GLA behind cam car that filters to lane 2 on the KPE, accelerates to overtake cam car and abruptly cuts into cam car’s path. This causes the cam car driver to high beam the GLA. Resulting in a short brake check game. The lecture begins For those who don’t understand Mandarin, I’ve summarized the main points for you. The wife’s point of view The husband deserved it Their kid was in the car Singaporeans don’t like to get high beamed Her husband high-beamed intentionally Her husband was driving too slowly (LOL) The GLA gave ample space before cutting into cam car’s lane The husband’s point of view This is a safety issue The GLA did not signal Their kid was in the car. Not signaling and changing lane is dangerous When we list them out like that, the wife starts to make a very compelling argument. Anyone else feel like this exchange between husband and wife is very relatable to couples out there? Baby Shark Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo This song on repeat is torture. It all ends well, don't worry Kudos to the couple though. You could tell they were angry with one another for awhile but they played it cool and kept their tempers in check. #couplegoals Online Chatter Looking at all these comments, the wife was right!
