Not gonna lie; Mercedes does have some sick, sporty-looking instrument clusters in their cars.

But don't get me wrong, driving a Mercedes Coupe with a sporty-looking instrument cluster is not equivalent to driving a sports car.

Watch this video to find out what I mean by that:

What Happened

This 15-second video seemed to be originally posted on the Mercedes driver's Instagram story.

In the video, the driver performs a "launch control" upon the traffic light turning green.

With all the fancy instrument clusters of his car, you would assume that he is driving a Mercedes sports car.

But here is the anti-climatic part: It took the driver exactly 11 seconds to get from 0-101km/h. (That is equivalent to a Honda Civic's 0-100km/h timing)

giphy.gif

I mean, a Honda Vezel Hybrid could probably outrun his Mercedes C180 Coupe in a 0 to 100km/h race EFFORTLESSLY.

But do you see Honda Vezel drivers taking video of themselves "launching" their cars? NOPE.

Before the video ended, the driver could be seen hitting a speed of 118km/h.

License Kantong Already

Let's give him the benefit of the doubt and assume the speed limit of that stretch of road is 70km/h; the driver still exceeded the speed limit by 48km/h.

Also, don't forget the driver's usage of his mobile phone to capture this priceless moment.

According to the Road Traffic Act, exceeding the vehicular speed limit by 41 to 50km/h will result in 12 demerit points and prosecution in court.

Furthermore, using a mobile device while driving will result in 12 demerit points and a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment of up to 6 months or both (1st-time offenders).

Well, that is 24 demerit points and a court date just for that 15-second video.

The driver's stupidity is pretty darn amazing.

My Hybrid Toyota and My Diesel Merc can finish him in a jiffy. Noted that entry-level Merc and BMW owners with cars such as CLAs and X1/2 Tourers are usually the asses on the road in terms of behaviour.

Watch a rear tailgate of a truck break off and whack an Audi TT on the TPE. Ouch!

Have you ever had to carry your family’s groceries in one trip after they have been on an NTUC run? Usually, it takes two or three trips (with a trolley) to haul back all of the plastic bags but every once in a while, your parents might hit you with the “It’s fine. It’s not that heavy. You can carry all of them back with your hands.”. While you try your best to balance the hefty weight on your arms, your body might feel like it’s going to burst any second. Well, that’s what happened with this truck. On Saturday (4 Dec), a cam car caught the moment when the rear tailgate of a truck suddenly broke off the vehicle on the expressway. After snapping off, the heavy tailgate cartwheeled across the road, hitting the side of a white Audi TT. While the rest of the truck was encased by a cloud of soil, the cam car immediately came to a halt after witnessing the horrific hit. The cam driver hopes that his video will assist the white Audi TT in making an insurance claim for any damages done. How did this happen? Although this was not the first time we heard of a vehicle getting hit by some random part of another vehicle, incidents like this should not be a common occurrence. Last week, a tyre fell from a different truck and hit another vehicle on the PIE. While there were no injuries reported, the scene of a flying tyre is more than enough to traumatize a driver. Even though there are no solid details on what happened in this video, netizens were quick to speculate several possibilities. The first was that the truck driver failed to maintain his vehicle correctly and did not perform the necessary checks to ensure that his truck was safe to drive. The other possibility was that the load of soil that the truck was carrying was too heavy, resulting in the tailgate's sudden breakage. While we might not know for sure how this happened, we’re glad that nobody was severely injured from this potentially deadly incident. 'Tour de Singapore' takes up an entire lane on a two-lane road, preventing vehicles from overtaking

The conflict between motorists and cyclists never ends. Every time it happens, a dashcam video emerges on the internet for us to spectate the drama between them.  Here's one such video that occurred over the weekend. Where?  The incident occurred at Kranji dam, along Kranji Way, which is a two-lane road.  It seems as if Tour de Singapore is the favourite pastime of Singaporeans these days and it's commonplace to see big groups of cyclists on the road nowadays (as though the pandemic is already over). Road regulation reminder for cyclists  Cycling abreast is allowed, but only on roads with more than one lane in the same direction. Below is an example where cyclists are allowed to cycle abreast.   In this case, cycling abreast is prohibited since Kranji Way is a two-lane road going in opposite directions. Increasing the number of cyclists does not mean you can flout the regulations. Don't give me that 'strength in numbers' bull crap.  The Van Driver The van driver was obviously feeling a tad bit frustrated from the road hogging of the entire kampong of cyclists.  As such, he took matters into his own hands by crossing the double white lines to go against the traffic flow to dangerously overtake (but failed) the group of cyclists. That's three offences committed within quick succession of one another – The perfect formula to getting your license suspended or revoked.  Netizens' Comments Straight facts. They are undoubtedly the cause of the incident.  Maybe next time the cyclist should 'ownself check ownself' before posting the video online.  Unpopular opinion edition. Drivers cause a chain collision along the PIE after slowing down to avoid getting caught by the TP

I’m sure there are many people who drive a ‘little’ over the speed limit on expressways, especially if traffic conditions are clear. After all, what's the harm in speeding it up a little? However, this mentality bites us in the butt when unforeseen circumstances occur – such as the sudden appearance of TP officers. These drivers show us why it’s crucial to pay close attention and keep to the speed limit while driving on the expressway. The video starts with the cam car travelling on the PIE along Steven Road. Right behind him, several drivers on the inner lane casually cruise by. Just as the cam car merges into the left lane, the driver notices two groups of TP officers on the left road shoulder of the expressway. The first group of officers attended to a stationary car on the road shoulder, while the second group were parked further down. The sudden appearance of these TP officers startles the drivers on the inner lane, leading them to hit the brakes and slow down to avoid getting fined for speeding. This, however, proves to be futile as the drivers fail to notice a stationary white Mercedes taxi in front of them, resulting in a massive chain collision. It is unclear if the taxi suddenly braked because of the TP officers or whether it was already involved in an accident prior. If only the drivers had paid more attention to the road, they would have saved their vehicles and wallets from an expensive repair job. Netizens’ reactions Yep, if these drivers did nothing wrong and were sticking to the speed limit, they wouldn't be in such a hurry to slow down. Video footage of the Parliament accident: Lower your volume for this one

There is finally video footage of the recent accident outside the Parliament House. For those who are unfamiliar with the accident, a Honda Vezel ran the red light and ended up getting T-boned by a BMW. This resulted in the Honda flipping on its side and getting wedged onto the road bollards, which shocked the female passenger in the camcar who witnessed the accident. More than a dozen individuals, including the camcar driver, got out of their vehicles to help. They were seen attempting to lift the Honda to an upright position in an attempt to rescue the victims.   The severity of the accident led to the deployment of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). It was reported that 5 individuals were transported to the Singapore General Hospital. According to the Straits Times, the 5 individuals comprised of 2 male drivers aged 51 and 59, and 3 passengers aged between 28 and 61. They were all conscious during the transport to the hospital.  Netizens' reactions We wish all of the victims a speedy recovery!     ------- Witnessed an accident?
