TL;DR – A Toyota Altis travelling on the fast lane of the CTE towards Woodlands suddenly found its bonnet flipped up.

Never have I ever seen something like this happen on the roads before.

Watch this  30-second video to see what bizarre incident occurred along the CTE recently.

What happened

A Toyota Altis travelling on lane 1 of the CTE/SLE (towards Woodlands) came to a halt as its bonnet got flipped up!

Some possible theories?

1.       As the caption of the post suggested. The Altis driver did not secure the bonnet properly before driving off

2.       The Altis driver was travelling at an insane speed, and the wind caught blew the bonnet up

3.       The catch of the bonnet is loose and needs a replacement

Whatever it is, it’s still a rare sight. This driver needs to buy the CNY Toto draw. Sure huat.

The person that created the video did have some sense of humor, especially from the 16th second onwards, the drum note totally ice the humor.

I  had seen cars [even taxis] with bonnet not completely shut, with a little gap probably to keep the engine compartment cooler. They might be using an adapter to latch to the original bonnet hook.

It's kind of weird because even if you don't press down on the bonnet to securely lock it down, the moment you lower the bonnet slowly to a closed position, the weight of the bonnet pressing down, force of gravity alone, will trigger a catch mechanism that will engage (hear a click) and you cannot re-lift the bonnet without manually disengaging the catch mechanism (it's some kind of spring-loaded lever).

  • GetGo car drives with its handbrake engaged, police puts a ‘stop’ to it

I can only imagine how it feels like to do a burnout. To have all that power sent straight to the wheels, to hear your tortured tires screaming, to smell the smoke before you go full send and are thrown back into your seat as the lights go green.  This GetGo driver can join me and keep imagining too. What happened?  On March 20, at Bedok North Avenue 3, a GetGo car was beginning to move forward after a green light when its handbrake engaged. However, the driver continued to m

Cam car tries to cut into a McLaren Convoy but gets denied access by a McLaren 720s

TL;DR - Cam-car's attempt to filter behind the McLaren Convoy was disrupted by a McLaren 720S that sped past to prevent overtaking.  A perfect example of monkey on wheels.   Watch this 33-second video to see how this cam-car tried to sandwich between two McLarens but almost got 'rekt'.  So what happened? The cam-car signaled right with the intention to filter to the next lane behind the McLaren Convoy.  However, his/her attempt failed as a McLaren 720S sped up to pr

Self entitled female Karen parks her Harrier on a double yellow, blocks cars from exiting car park at Clementi

TL;DR - This female Harrier driver double parked her car to go shopping at Clementi’s Sheng Siong supermarket, got unhappy when being called out.  If you didn't already know, the popular term ‘Karen’ is used to describe an entitled and obnoxious middle-aged woman. This lady definitely hopped into the Year of the Rabbit as one.  Watch this 41-second clip to see what I mean. What happened?  This driver decided to park beside a row of vehicles already parked parallel t

A reckless race between a Lancer and a Scirocco results in a sad BMW X3 and a 2-hour jam

TL;DR – A Mitsubishi Lancer and a Volkswagen Scirocco were caught on camera speeding along the CTE and overtaking other vehicles using the road shoulder. Unfortunately for one of the two idiots, one of them hit a BMW X3 in the process and went full turtle, causing a 2-hour long jam in its wake.   Lancerlution – It’s the term people use to refer to Mitsubishi Lancers trying their best to be EVOs (like this gum gong gia or a Lancer driver) Multiple angles of this incident
