What happened?

Just yesterday on Ang Mo Kio Ave 9, a poor Kia Seltos got the tongue lashing of their year after turning in just a bit too soon and tight on a Toyota Axio.

Looking at the video, you might be thinking “eh he turn right but not in the correct lane, then his fault lah”. WRONG.

As we can see from the above photo, the Kia  is perfectly within their rights to make a right turn despite not being in the right-most lane.

Now, is that an excuse for turning a bit too early and risking an accident? Probably not. But they could be a new and inexperienced driver. Rookie mistake, totally understandable.

The Toyota driver DID NOT care. Bro pulled up and blocked the Kia’s path to make sure there could be no escape.

As usual, someone please translate whatever the driver said. All I know is that if it was in Cantonese it would be far more severe.

After that, he just got back into his car and carried on with their day. Not sure why it was so short, if he was willing to get out of the car to scold them.

Online chatter

People agreed it was the Kia’s fault, by turning so tightly an accident could have happened.

Others also praised the Toyota for the scolding. Which is probably good, the Kia will consider their turning radius a bit more in the future.

  • Japan: The trend that became a turn-off

Ahh Japan. The destination that many travellers desire. The perennial trending subject on social media. Japanese cuisine, culture, quirks, technology, and everything kawaii have inspired endless posts, stories, reels, YouTube videos, and TikToks. If one didn't know better, you'd think it was the dream destination on this planet. While I love the food, the service and the shopping, the sheer number of tourists (me included) has become a turn-off. I'm not talking about those who inconven

Christmas colours: What do they actually mean?

The members of the Sgcarmart media team recently put its heads together to prepare something special and festive for our readers and viewers - which you can both read about and watch on Instagram - and as we were sitting down to plan things out, we were faced at one point with a deceptively simple question: What are the different meanings behind the colours we associate with Christmas?  In my very non-expert eyes, three distinct colours stand out: Red, green and white primarily,

Japan is weird. I love it (Part 6)

Fireflies. Not a topic I think about often, if at all, but here we are.  On a recent podcast episode, I learnt that the light that fireflies emit is nearly 100% efficient. That's amazing (nature generally is). And it is precisely the study of fireflies (and their light) that has allowed the development of more efficient LED lights.  On a whim, I did a bit of extra Googling, and lo and behold, Japan pops up once more, with yet another culturally-unique eccentricity.  In Japan, ther

    Zebras

On a recent podcast episode, this hilarious nugget of information was brought up: "Zebras have the loudest farts".  What.  I have spent some time Googling this, and I cannot yet definitely verify the accuracy of this statement. But there is some scientific basis to it - zebras are hindgut fermenters, and there's a whole bunch of biology behind it but the important takeaway is that yes, zebras fart plenty. This also explains their 'bum-heavy' shape, similar to cows, horses, el
