Credor Twincharged April 11, 2006 Share April 11, 2006 How to know that the OCW layer is there?? Me apply OCW weekly after wash..cos car in open carpark 24hr/day. Is it too kaisu(wasteful) to do weekly? (product mentioned can last for 5 month & some bro do said their last for few weeks too) Thanks.
Marcostan 4th Gear April 11, 2006 Share April 11, 2006 E95E01 Same as you brother, I don't care I also apply the product weekly (if I can). Now my ride is 2 years old, the petrol attendant always ask me the same question. You just get your car?
Ah_bon Neutral Newbie April 11, 2006 Share April 11, 2006 one of the few ways i normally use to gauage if wax is still on is... look at the Water beading. if the water beading is still good then the wax should still be that... i was told its not a accurate gauge but i guess shouldn't be too far off... hehehhee another way is to "feel" your car paint... if still feels slick, then i think wax still there. but for your case, if you wax weekly, then very very high chance the wax still there... Unless you wash more often than you wax and the car wash you use is very strong or acidic. then i dunno le....
Credor Twincharged April 12, 2006 Share April 12, 2006 Bro Marcostan, Mine is going to 6 mths old.Try to maintance the steam to keep my car in good conditions...so trying very hard to do weekly washing & then waxing..else will end up like my previous sunny. currently, car is under grooming package(half yearly go once) & rest of the time DIY. hopefully can learn from U (hear u r guru in this field) when my grooming package end. If possible,pm me your washing location,so may drop by to learn from u a few trick in using claybar, etc.
Speedstep1 Neutral Newbie April 12, 2006 Share April 12, 2006 hi, would like to know wat brand of sealant u use... also, is my procedure correct? wash > polish > sealant > wax
Marcostan 4th Gear April 12, 2006 Share April 12, 2006 SPEEDSTEP1 If can add the claybarring in between: wash > claybarring > polish > sealant For me wax is only an option, I'm layering sealant so if I apply wax then cannot layer sealant anymore, this is due to bonding issue. I'm using Klasse product, soft 99 claybar, and Armoall car shampoo. For quick detailer I'm on Finish Kare 425. Actually after the full detail of your ride what you need to do is simple : 1. Daily wipe your ride with damp WW MF 2. Dry your ride SOON AFTER rain (if possible) to avoid any watermarks. 3. Weekly wash and apply another layer of sealant (take 1-1.5 hrs only). 4. In between, if u like to make your ride very very slick (smooth) then just apply QD if u have 5. Only need to redo the whole full detail 2 or 3 times per year. Just my 2 cents, another suggestion to u, if u are not in Klasse and u hv intention to purchase. Then I highly recomment u call Bro Gen2, he is now carry AJ & Prime. These product are equally good as Klasse but I believe it's more easy to use. Rgds, MarcosTan

Lukie102 Clutched April 12, 2006 Share April 12, 2006 actually if u go for grooming, they should claybar your car for you so you dont really need to do it when you DIY. Just wash and maintain
Flashpal Neutral Newbie April 12, 2006 Share April 12, 2006 Bro E95e01 I second bro Marcos idea of joining the wash and wash he organises at Rav4 W&W. A man of passion indeed and he walks the talk. I am part of his team, too. As for the wettest look, IMO, a good grade of carnauba yields a very wet look, but wont last. So, one has to apply weekly to keep it up with the environmantal damages. Carnauba is vulnerable to heat, strong sunlight and rain. Synthetic and acrylic based formulas help lenghten the intervals between application and can provide a very good mirror shine. Whether Zaino, OCW, NXT or Klasse, they are all good products to try. But it is important to understand differences of each group of chemicals and also the technique will help maintain the interest. Waxing a car weekly is not that much of a chore anymore since the frequencies help maintain the clear coat layering at its peak. Cheers and hope to see u in our next meet. Root Neutral Newbie April 18, 2006 Share April 18, 2006 Have tried using klasse on my silver ride but i don't think it works well on silver colur. Or may be i'm using it the wrong way Whatever i'm not happy with this product However, it seem to work well with darker colour rides like black ↡ Advertisement
