Ahhuat 1st Gear May 25, 2006 Share May 25, 2006 my fren used to be MT spec.. he said that in army they use kiwi for truck tyres.. no problem.. for my car, i have never tried. However, I think that when i sent my car for repair the other time, they did some minor 'grooming' and used kiwi. When scrubbing, it made my brush very black cos the kiwi came off. other than that, it gave a dull but quite lasting blackening effect..

Vit4wd 1st Gear May 25, 2006 Share May 25, 2006 I did apply kiwi on my tyres before. Let your kiwied tyres stand for 1/2 hour and wet your brush and brush tyre - super shine that stays even after rain. But I am not sure what negative effect kiwi has on our tyres in long term

Edrollbrick Neutral Newbie May 27, 2006 Share May 27, 2006 (edited) Have seen SAF drivers doen that back in 1979 before NDP. Shiny and black. But do not coat too heavy. Can cause caking from thick layers. But not liquid kiwi, think won't work as temp will dry out the shine and become big blur. Burgerdog Neutral Newbie May 31, 2006 Share May 31, 2006 for a cheap alternative: use the leftover foam from the car shampoo. spread the foam on the tyre without wiping it off and allowing it to dry. you'll get a black finish but not shiny. not very lasting, but definitely CHEAP!!! ↡ Advertisement
