Component speakers, no amp?

Just go ahead and install the amp so you run the speakers to its fullest potential.

Without the amp is like driving a V8 Corvette but only limiting your car to 50 kmh. 

Btw the RA40 is a very good amp. PRS80, DLS and Morel is one fantastic system.

If I am not wrong DLS used to buy speaker components from Morel. Morel and DLS works really well together.

Hi all,

Thinking of upgrading my stock speakers, to either 1 of the following component speakers,

1) Hertz DSK165. 3 

2) Steg LEO650C 

Any advice on the selection or have better recommendations?

Not intending to spend too much , budget around 400 with a layer of soundproof on the door. Thanks!

See which one sounds better to you.

For me the Hertz is brighter and the Steg is warmer and I like the Steg better for long term listening.

 

Note the Steg is only driven by the head unit and not an amp like the Hertz so the video does not show the full potential of the the Steg.

So how does Brax speeakers sound with no amp and just powered by the head unit?
