Hi Guys and Gals,

I am always on the go. And now with Wireless Broadband, my car is my office. But the only problem is power supply.

Which is the best way to charge or power a laptop/notebook in the car?

BTW, where can I find those mounting bracket, to the centre console, that SFP uses for their consoles in the car?

Thanks.

You can try asking the laptop manufacturer if the in-car charger is available for your laptop model. I heard that can be quite expensive.

Another way is to get a power inverter to convert the DC power from your car's ciggy lighter jack to AC power. You simply plug your regular laptop's power adaptor to the inverter can already.

I am not sure if such product is available in sgp, but I've seen it in China. http://www.globalsources.com/gsol/I/Power-.../1002899398.htm

Maybe you want to try your luck at Simlim tower or SLS.

u can get those car charger for ur laptop, 12v -> 19.2v*

Else get the inverter, 12v -> 240v. Then use ur laptop power adapter, 240v -> 19.2v*

the bracket is specially fabricated by SPF.

Y u want to mount ur laptop? is urs a tablet?

*. Most laptop use 19.2v, but it vary... :)

I've gotten this iGO device.

www.igo.com

It can charge using wall, Car and air.

It can also charge 2 devices (HP, PDA or others) together with your notebook.

Very convenient for travel and commuting.

I belief you can get it at Challenger.

I got it at the airport though.

I saw it at South East Asia Computers at Funan as well.

Check the tip you need from the website. If it has, remember the tip number, then go down to check if its in the package.

The weight of 2nd battery sometimes is not an advantage.

Depending on how you use your computer, the length of use is not very optimistic as well.

For me, a batt can last only 1-1.5 hrs.

So, a continuous power allow me to work on the go without having to think about power.
