Thanks for all your replies, to the real VAG guys for the informative posts, and to the rest of the MCF guys for making this thread entertaining with all the permutations of the letter "T" [thumbsup][laugh][laugh]

How about, T is for the VAG manufacturers to "Tan Lui" [sly]

Makes sense, yeah the guys at audiforums.com never came up with a good answer to the Red T question...

So it's really inconsistency on Audi's part for the 2.0 Ts, because I see lots of A3s and A4s here (North America) with either red or black Ts, and to my knowledge, there is only 1 form of the 2.0T engine, all at 200 hp. Strange they would do that, kind of dilutes the branding of the red T. Then again, the higher end engines are all NA (3.2 or 4.2) so they won't have any T on them.

You are absolutely right to ask this question, many have answered, T = Turbo....

Turbo used to be GT, L used to be luxury, so much have changed.

GT = Means "Got Turbo"

GTI= Means "Got Turbo Inside"

[idea][laugh][:p]

Yep, u right. Deck's too. came up wz better answers than the forums u mentioned.

Audi also has new High End engine with the V10 5.2l NA detuned Gallardo engine, which is found in the new C6( S6) ? n S8Quattro .around 450BHP & crazy torque. correct me if im wrong on e numbers. That one don;t need red or black Ts, jus raw NA power.

U may like to check out www.audizine.com www.vwvortex.com www.eurotuner.com n local MCF/VAG ( haha ) n vagsg.com for more info. Happy weekend to all.!!

Some of the VAG cars have a red T for the 1.8T or 2.0T engines.

Does anyone know what's the significance? Have searched a couple of forums, there doesn't seem to be a consistent answer to it. Some say "Sports package", some say it's random from year to year etc..

ang moh car of cos means TuaKee.
