100km/h and Rpm at 4000 is it normal?

went for a short trip to meleka. was driving at north south E-way and found that my rpm jus wont drop and fixed at 4000...is it normal?

My Altis is only doing 100km/h @ 2.5k rpm. I think yours too high.

if urs is AT, maybe the OD button is pressed? So it sticks to 3rd or 4th gear...

If yours is a 800-1000 cc car should be about right

 

If 1600 cc should be about 2500-3000 RPM

 

If 2400 cc should be about 2000-2500 RPM

A 2400 cc running on 5th gear should only 2000 rpm or slightly less

no way a city should hit 4Krpm with just 100km/h... it's either ur OD button pressed or ur car need check-up....

ya, will sent for servicing to kah motor on monday.

 

 

recently FC also drop badly to 11km/l usually i clock 13-14 travelling on same roads.

 

is it the start plug faulty? or some other causes?

get ur CVT checked. Urs is a 7speed CVT rite?

No way can a 7speed CVT give u 4000rpm @ 100kmh.

Even my humble 1086cc Auto Picanto runs ard 2700-2900rpm at 100km/h.

 

For Honda City to run at 4krpm is abnormal.

Honda City? the expected range should be around 2000-2500rpm for 100kph crusing...

unless

during hard acceleration, or moving up a steep slope, then maybe need 4000rpm...

its more or less straight road and accerating, but its does not change to higher gear and just stay there...even when i release the gas pedal and re-step...its still stays there for sometime and after abt 20secs is reduce back to 3000rpm.
