No wonder mishmash... ha ha... some Fox, some Genting ideas... some Fox standards, some Malaysia standard...

It's smaller than Singapore's Universal Studios... surprising though...

yup. malaysian standard. just like the resort world at sentosa. horrible design.

The theme park design doesn't look much different from before... a mishmash of themes and colours... a bit out of place...

Kids will definitely love it. Adults probably the weather.

Let wait for the border reopening and hype to die down.

Safety first.

I missed my machine!🤣 Keep receiving free room.... sms.

Only during 2016 and 2017 that time smoke everywhere even at restaurants, shops and hotel lobby. Go casino non smoking section also got smoke smell. Maybe the ventilation is poor.

the new sky avenue mall is better but can smell abit still. My nose sensitive

I see.

If you stick to the gold or silver zone probably would fare better.

I agree... I last went to Awana in 2018 and the smoke smell was bad even in the hotel... can't imagine the top where the casino is... that's the one problem in Malaysia... smoking everywhere...

I am planning a road trip to Genting Highlands - KL then back to SG in end May.

As this is my 1st drive to Genting/KL, just want to ask for advise on the followings:

a) Is google maps or WAZE good enough for navigation to Genting/KL?

b) What's the recommended rest stops area to Genting and back?

c) Is there any recommended petrol kiosks just before i drive up to Genting?

d) I have already installed my VEP tag 3 years ago, is there anything i need to take note? Just download the TouchnGo App and does it mean that I can drive and it will auto-deduct the fees? How much will it costs to go to Genting?

e) Anyone got any recommended breakdown services for tyre puncture/battery/etc along the trip that I can call if i need help?

Thanks!

a) both will do fine but Waze is preferred as it has warnings on other hazards like debris on road and police. Just be sure to have data on your hp.

b) recommended rest stop is when you are tired. The big RnR along the highway are alright. Can pump petrol, have coffee etc. If you are not used to driving long distances, do plan to stop every 90-120 minutes. I.e. start looking for the next petrol station/RnR at 90min mark.

c) https://goo.gl/maps/qvFtmQaije1A6UC86 or https://goo.gl/maps/29MZ7s81UBM39xZRA

there are also petrol stations on the hill

https://goo.gl/maps/CFVRe7k924GAVMiV9 and https://goo.gl/maps/Xwr8goVqJp8T5TwP6

d) i'm not familiar with VEP usage but i think it's better to have the physical TnG card as it will be accepted at all tolls and can also be used to pay carpark at major malls. IIRC one way toll from SG to GH is about Rm70

e) their expressway support (PLUS) is quite helpful. Otherwise, for specific support, it's more location-based. Good to have your car thoroughly checked prior to the trip.

enjoy the trip.

b) I usually stop every 2 hours.  Even just for 5 minutes toilet break.

Along NSH, i recommend following R&R:

When driving on Malaysian highways, my advice is don't wait your tank is near empty before you top up. I tried that once and was along the NS Highway when I saw on GPS there was a petrol station not too far away. Indeed there was a station there but it was Closed 🤯. I had to drive carefully and nervously for the next 40 km or so before I saw an operating petrol station :relief:

just exit highway in the next nearest exit ...

80-90% chance there is a petrol station in B-road within 5km highway entry/exit

Spore to Genting it is only 400km plus distance. Full tank can surely get you from home to Genting back to seremban at least?

On the hill top there is a service station with tyre repair. Get it check if there is a need. Never tried so don't know the pricing.

Rest stop. Hmmm with son we will stop every hour for a toilet break. I will choose those with service station/fork and spoon.
