Spotted this rare parallel import 2 dr Suzuki Vitara 1.6

Had the chance to have a short conversation with the owner, who said that this car is way underpowered.

Probably due to its heavy body meant for a 2l?

[shocked] Such a big vehicle 1.6L? Sure or not??

For Escudo it has either 2.0L or 2.7L, where to find 1.6L?

Somemore the one pic which looks so distant. Got no proof it's 1.6L [rolleyes]

Even if it's 1.6L it should have a rear soft-top to reduce the weight.

1.6L? [laugh] Get stuck in a pot hole how ah? Ppl see already will laugh until peng man.

Of course confirm is 1.6L bcos it is an Escudo which is imported by PI. For 2.0 and 2.7L, it is from Champion Motor and it is Vitara and 4 door version.

Vit4wd already say he had a conversation with the owner liao

Saw a white one at BHP a few months back and was told they only brought in about 3 units. Loved the design but was not sure about power when told its only 1.6L and priced back then was around S$72,000 (COE below 10k) [;)]

maybe wana make the car more appealling to younger buyers. looks big and cool, but lower engine capacity...

big cc, more power to move the car, but burn more fuel. small cc, less power and its a struggle to move the car, also burn more fuel, so heck, give it small cc so can sell cheaper.

indeed from behind both look very alike..but not from the front..

but to get the Escudo, it will be like buying a strip down Vitara at the same or higher price..

How to tell the diff. bet an Escudo and a Rav4 from their butt?

(1) The Escudo have bigger and longer taillight;

(2) The spare wheel for Escudo and GV is located in the middle whereas the Rav4 is slightly towards its right; and

(3) The 3rd brake light for Escudo and GV is located on the roof edge whereas for the Rav4, the brake light is inside the car.

Agreed...I believe the 3Dr Escudo although a 4WD, is unreasonably more expensive than the 5 Dr 2L GV (2WD) u see at CM. Also, lots of accesories and setups in the cabin of GV is missing in the Escudo. But each buyer will have his own utility consideration and preferences (aside from price and performance) so if they go for Escudo, it is perfectly understandable bcos the young and trendy nowadays may find the 5Dr GV very uncle-fied [laugh]
