Thanks. I am asking as I got banged in the bumper this morning and the force pushed me forward to hit the car in front, damaging my bonnet too. All agreed to claim insurance.

This Ready Auto Care was recommended by my insurance company.

I was told I do not have to report to IDAC though 2 colleagues told me otherwise. Anyone know if I need to report to IDAC before I go to the workshop?

The car needs to spend 10 days with the mechanic. Although I treat my car just as a mode of transport, there was a certain tinge of sadness when I left the place. [smallcry]

And I don't like my replacement ride. Very unlike my damaged vehicle. Very unfamiliar. Like park tor-ing with another man's girlfriend like that. [laugh]

Sorry to dig out old thread...

Went to change my alternator there, my bill for the alternator was $1800.

Few days later after i did some research on the forum, i realise ppl

with the same make and model of my car change it for only $900....

Ask her if mine was a more premium alternator, and i even ask her for the brand,

she never reply me...

They are the same company.

They are mostly handling claims for accident vehicles.

my experience with this workshop mentioned by TS not very good. They seems everything all dunno and dont bother to help you to find parts. Such workshop i will give it a miss. To me they are not very pro in terms of knowledge. A small workshop for claims. Thats my experience.

Should have done my research before asking them to repair my car.

Yup, that was how i knew them when i did my claim for my car in 2009.

Was with them for about 4 years....

Normally i dun really care about the price of my repair....

But this time round, i thought paying $1800 was too much!!!

After i did some research and enquires online, i found out that its only

about $900 for replacing my Alternator....

I PAID DOUBLE!!!!

Wow u paid double. [knife][knife][knife]

Did u try fr a re-con alternator.

Last time I always get those re-con alternator only abt $200-$300 each. Can last several years.

Afterall alternator only the bearing n brushes need to change. Sometimes the circuit board(CB) spoil then need to find a good 2nd hand unit where CB is working well then re-con the bearing n brushes or transfer yr old working CB to the re-con unit.

Just make sure u get from a reliable shop cos some dun do a proper job. Then u wil hv problems.

Same with distributor. Last time I get from this lousy 2nd hand parts scrapyard at Woodlands. Ty use an old unit (not 2 year old imported unit) n never re-con properly n just sell. End up cannot use at all.

Money also cannot take back.

Is this the same company RDY Auto at AMK Auto Point? They were quite popular in several forums like Team Chevy Singapore forum.

Maybe because you "dun really care about the price" of your previous repairs, hence this time they....(just my guess only). [;)]

Black shop.

Ask them how much they submit the quote for my insurance claim, they diam diam. Dont even want to tell me.

Claim being rejected by the other insurance company, they didnt even call me.

I must call my insurance agent then realise the claim is rejected and the amount they submit is damn high high up the sky.
