Lightspeed Clutched August 1, 2007 Share August 1, 2007 (edited) Notice these big japan dept. stores all pull out after many years of bleeding ...Yaohan...Seiyu... Tokyu... Sogo... Only surviving ones are Taka and Isetan Edited August 1, 2007 by Lightspeed ↡ Advertisement
Wreckwrx 1st Gear August 1, 2007 Share August 1, 2007 Oic..... So basically it is not some direct takeover.... But this BHG must be really desperate to get piece of the retail pie in Sg man!

Wreckwrx 1st Gear August 1, 2007 Share August 1, 2007 Yaohan.....that's a name I haven't heard in a long time. As a kid, I use to love weekend grocery shopping trip over at yaohan in Plaza Sing coz they got loads of yummy food at the food court on the supermarket level...... But the parent company of Yaohan truly went bust right? Whereas Tokyu and Sogo simply pulled out of SG, so it is a bit different. You still can find Tokyu and Sogo dept stores around the region. Wreckwrx 1st Gear August 1, 2007 Share August 1, 2007 I mean the real name lah..... Dun play play ok..... Have u seen the traffic at their Albert Court outlet?? They are doing roaring trade man! Probably contributed to Seiyu's demise.....
Lightspeed Clutched August 1, 2007 Share August 1, 2007 Yup... miss the good old days there with the yummy food at the basement Been to the various Sogos in HK/TW ... nothing special really Perhaps the reason for them not doing well in SG

Wreckwrx 1st Gear August 1, 2007 Share August 1, 2007 My fave was this pancake thingy shaped like a fish with red bean fillings (coz I was only a kid mah)...... kekekeke....... They got Sogo in KL and Jkt as well..... but also quite boring. As for Tokyu, I know there in one in Bkk but not sure anywhere else.
Wreckwrx 1st Gear August 1, 2007 Share August 1, 2007 Well, at least they noe their target group and zoom straight in for them. Of all the dept stall here in SG, I still rate Isetan the best followed by Taka.....

Vit4wd 1st Gear August 1, 2007 Share August 1, 2007 (edited) I doubt this sale is genuine. I went to the Metro Tampines closing down sale last month, and after all the squeeze and queue, realised a wk later that OG is selling these items at the same price.
