Fluffy Clutched August 14, 2007 Share August 14, 2007 Bros for the 1.8T in Singapore what is the recommended OCI for this car? 1) Passat 1.8T in US is (5k miles) 8,000km for Synthetic oil 2) C&C is 15,000km 3) Others workships recommend 10,000km OCI with synthetic oil which should it be for the safe running of the car without the sludge problem so notoriously known in US ? please advice, fluffy ↡ Advertisement
Koolaba 1st Gear August 14, 2007 Share August 14, 2007 I would stick to 10000km or 6 months whichever comes first. Due to the humidity levels here, I doubt the highest quality engine oil available will be able to resist deterioriation. If you really want to be 'kiasu', you may wish to consider 7500km oil change interval or 6 months.

Watwheels Supersonic August 14, 2007 Share August 14, 2007 Oil change depends on the car usage frequency. What is your average mileage in a week or in a month? If u'r a heavy usage 5k km is recommended. Average usage can stick to 10k km. Not so frequent usage can follow AD recommended.
Fluffy Clutched August 26, 2007 Author Share August 26, 2007 handsup for spb owners who stick to 15k km? were u on AD mobil 1 50w oil?
Micb 5th Gear August 29, 2007 Share August 29, 2007 I too find it a bit confusing. For new car, there must be a lot of debris since the engine is new, so I'm very surprise to know the first oil change is at 15000km. As my ride comes with the 3years maintenance program, I'm thinking of getting an oil change around 8000km, any recommendation where I can go change it without the AD detecting it and probably void the warranty. Do PM me if possible. Thanks.

Fluffy Clutched September 20, 2007 Author Share September 20, 2007 btw, guys which are the intervals we MUST go back to C&C for the warranty to be valid? when do we change the auto trans oil? thanks fluffy
Try_conti 2nd Gear September 20, 2007 Share September 20, 2007 supposed to be every 15k. So if you've just done your 15k, the next one should be 30k. The service warning would appear some 500km b4 your service is due. Can't remember abt the auto-trans oil though. Maybe some other bros here would remember. Anyone ? Beanoyip Turbocharged September 22, 2007 Share September 22, 2007 Probably just head down and get them to reset it, think the last time they forgot to reset the service warning. ↡ Advertisement
