I am giving my reviews in comparison with the Yokohama Aspec dB.

Lasting?

Yes, I have been on 3 sets of GR80 on different rides. These tyres can last easily 3 years or 60,000km.

Quiet??

Definitely.

Good grap???

Yes, much better than the dB.

Worth the buy????

Yes.

Hihi..

I know cannot compare...but when yo put the GR80 and PP2 together...

so do you think justified to go for PP2 for its price?

GR80 has 16" and 17" models?

I took a great courage to try out something not so common...the Maxis MZ-21. Very good grip on wet road and very durable. Going round corners bite very well to road surface.

Currently, it has lasted for almost 60K and still good. But the price is almost same as Miche.

I'm using Bridgestones RE050A for a year plus. Good tyre with low noise levels compliment with good performance on both wet and dry.

Just 1 con to it, it cost $300/piece.

Sorry...should be Maxix MA-Z1. Noise level quite ok...but can't remember the spec.

But if I did not remember wrongly, it costed me about $165 per piece.

Hi,

The GR80 is available from 13" to 18".

http://www.myharmony.com.sg/tyreatcost.htm

I have come across reports that the PP2 has a softer compound. Hence for the equivalent amount of $ spent, you may be getting less mileage out of a PP2, given all things equal.

http://www.motortrader.com.my/asp/forum/to...?TOPIC_ID=11831

To be frank, I have not tried a set of PP2. Hence I will not comment on its performance:price vs the GR80.

so far I am very satisfied with pp2..but what puts me off is the $250 per pc. (for 225/45/R17)

I think the price for this size for GR80 should be less than $200 right?

the Tyre at cost quotes from Myharmony doesn't seems to be at cost leh. I was quoted $25 more for the Bridgestones GR80 than those recommended tyres shop!

Thinking of the following requirements,

1. Comfort and Quiet

2. High Speed Touring (W?)

3. Safe on wet roads

4. Save Petrol

The Michelin P2 are too noisy and more for cornering.....

What should i get?

Thinking of upping it to 17" rims? Advisable?

i've tried a few tires and the worst is Kumho Ecsta, skidded and resulted in accident. the 2nd worst is Hankook sports tire, skidded twice and nearly crashed during a light drizzle at about 40km turn. Good when new, not after used, gets noisier too.

Best tire and currently on 2nd set, is the bridgestone GR80, not skidded yet and the special rubber layers ensures that it is soft, comfortable and quiet throughout the life cycle. Also, the low rolling resistance ensures 40-50k km life span, really good for safety too!

Next best is Nokian NRZi, but dunno if around.

hope this helps,

fluffy

HI Fluffly,

If i am not wrong the tire u have used is K104. It is a know fact that K104 is slippery when its about to finished.

However the Vrs and S1Evo are different.

I have used all three tires and i have not recommended k104.
