Wreckwrx 1st Gear November 14, 2007 Share November 14, 2007 Here's an advice for Siam Reap: Save $$, dun nid to stay in hotel and stay in guest houses instead. Got air-con, attached bath with hot water, satellite TV (more channels than my home in SG!) and some places even got free wireless access. There are plenty of guest houses in Pub Street (the main tourist hangout when they are not visiting temples) and you can take a look at the rooms before committing. You can even bargain on the rates. Pub street is convenient coz there are loads of shops and restaurants offering creature comforts for tourist. Forget about eating near the temple complexes coz sure kena . I stayed in this guesthouse called Peace of Angkor http://peaceofangkor.com/ which is nearer to the temple complexes. At US$15/nite, it is considered more expensive. But this place is very clean and professionally run and the owners are ang-moh so there's no language issue. Only down side is that being near the temple complex, it gets really quiet at night. Have fun!
Wreckwrx 1st Gear November 14, 2007 Share November 14, 2007 http://www.angkorgreen.com/home.html This is another guest house that I stayed in which is in the Pub Street area. The rooms are much more basic compared to Peace of Angkor but at US$7/nite (comes with attached bath, hot water & cable TV) and considering the location, I have no complains!
