i would suggest him to take the MRT from jurong to boon lay during peak hour ALONE without anyone else knowing, then try out the world class public bus from boonlay to shentonway and enjoy the ride and scenary.... then come and tell me he can give up his car and go public because we have world class public transport...

No need all of them lah. Just the one heading the transport. Take Public transport alone during morning and evening peak hours for a month. After that, give him only $4k/month for 3months, cannot touch his savings for more $$$ or any other income, asked him to drive thru CTE during morning and evening peak hour and see for himself if it is worth paying for the ERP and still get stuck in the jam.
