Test drive a 2L today, power nothing to boost abt. Light on steering which hard corner dangerous, body roll too when hard turn too much.

Cheap but not a worth buy if you are looking at a more stable car. Honda Civic 2L a better choice and getting my ride soon!

seriously,

if u'r looking for consolation, i agree with u that Honda Civic 2L is a better buy.

except that in sgcarmart, the price comparison will be:

Civic 2L -> $80k

Forte 2L -> $51k (with sunroof, 6 airbags, traction control etc etc and lots of features)

honestly, $29k i rather save in my pocket.

How about asking you 1 question, can you get a civic at that price range with all its features? Or rather can any Japs with same cc at that price range do it? Interesting comparison right? Don't forget you are paying 20k more. If you wanna say for normal driving, I think the forte serves it purpose well, if you want to be a chiongster, I think forte will not serve the purpose. Light on steering?? To me, Honda also has a very light steering, so makes to difference.

people don't get it.

the lightness felt on the steering is due to the electric steering feature.

if u wan "feel", don't even have power steering loh. u sure have lots of feel.

my ody 09 also use electric steering. car felt freaking light but i'm not complaining cos its a new technology.

Yeah, keep hearing about comments about 'light' or 'unpredictable' steering all over, even in mag reviews. I remembered way back when my Dad bought his first power steering equipped car (a Mitsu Tredia, IIRC), it felt like driving a toy car compared to his previous car (a Datsun 100A FII). I suspect this is just a matter of people getting used to the new technology, which incidentally, saves fuel (coz unlike traditional hydraulically assisted power steering, electric power steering does not have a pump operated by the engine. With conventional hydraulic power steering, a pump driven by an engine belt constantly runs regardless of whether the driver requires steering assist

Errr, you know this place is crawling with kimchi lovers ever willing to smash up sushi eaters, right? [wave]

Enjoy your premium ride! I'll keep my $29k and buy myself a 50" plasma TV and some audiophile speakers. [laugh]

Out of curiosity, what will the likely price change be in the coming months? Usually car prices drop after the initial launch.. hoping to get an even better bargain.

Haha! How can u compare 2.0 civic & 2.0 forte? No doubt under same cat but price difference of 20k?

Think it this way,why buy civic 2.0?Add another 10k buy accord 2.0 or 20k buy accord 2.4 better la!

More spacious & luxury, right?Definitely better than civic anytime.

Actually i find the steering just right. The previous Camry's steering feels like that, from personal experience.

Honda 2.0 is actually using Accord engine, which is different from the 1.8L.

Anyway..we cant compare apple to apple as Honda quite a differnet league from Kia Cerato.

Its the same as comparing a Audi 2.0 with Honda Civc, i believe no one do that.because of the huge difference.

All watches reads the same time..why some are 20 times more expensive..

Just my personal view..

If the price suits my wallet size...i buy it..if i have a bigger pocket..i will buy Audi, BMW..etc no point making an economical Korean car looks like a high performance car.

By the way i just had my Forte...cheers

Give the pro Jap bro a break lah....He is getting his Civic ride already...question is if he is so confident of his Civic 2L ride, why try the 2L Cerato Forte??

or is it a case of....regrets???

anyway, like most of the bros said here, the two cars are in different price range. even tho' in terms of active and passive safety, Forte is way ahead of Civic. When accident occurs, you will appreciate all the safety built into your car.....

The Forte is in a different price range and you are definitely right. Its Jap competitors are much much more expensive. At the end of the day, it all boils down to value for money. Some may feel that the Jap equivalent of the Forte is worth the extra tens of thou$ands whilst others may not.

If you want to spend 20k for a piece of mind why not. I would rather keep my 20k and have my piece of mind LOL....... [lipsrsealed] . Any way this track should be keep as if forte is a good buy base on its current specs. Don need to compare.....

sorry, a plasma 50 inch plasma only costs 1999 from best denki, you still have $27001 to spend on some other products......perhaps, buy 13 more 50 inch plasma tv?

go forte go.....

What I feel is for the kinda of pricing and the kind of specs you are getting is quite a steel for a day to day driving car, unless you tell me you are a super chiongster. In the market I don't think any make of its class comes close. Other cars that are of its same specs don't think the pricing will even come close to it. But it is sure getting more and more common on the road now, I am seeing it very often now on the road.
