remove the clear plastic canistor and unscrew the filter (white tube).

An arrow indicator will show you the direction of air flow (will show the inner part in later pic)

just above the whte tube, there is a big piece of black plastic (like a cap) and you can see that there is lots of groove that are at an angle, these grooves will cause the air coming to spin around inside the plastic canistor (I will post a link later to utube to see how it works).

most US guys will remove and throw away both the black plastic "cap" and filter, I didn't, will show you why later.

here is how the inner side of the air flow inside.

The airflow is from left to right, so it will enter the semi-circle chamble and because of the black plastic cap will cause the air to spin inside the canistor and then will exit from the center round hole.

I use a cutter to cut a hole at the bottom of the filter.

This filter is actually meant to trap water and if I do not cut a hole, the oil will clotted up the whole filter in no time sweatdrop.gifsweatdrop.gifsweatdrop.gif

yes, it comes with a nipple, just like those for tyres, you can just press and drain the oil off thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif

It's also important to make sure the pcv valve is in good working condition.

I took it out and degrease it.smile.gif

my PCV valve cannot be access from the outside, need to removed the CAM cover, so what I did is to spray CARB cleaner into it, normally done just before oil change is due wink.gifwink.gifwink.gif
