PM unhappy with Komuter, LRT services (Update 2)

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi took rides on the commuter and LRT rail services from Serdang to the city centre Thursday to get a feel of the transportation problems faced by the people and came away less than satisfied.

Throughout the one-hour journey, during which he switched trains, the prime minister noted the congestion, especially during the peak hours, and spoke to his fellow passengers to get their feedback.

Speaking to Bernama after disembarking at the Masjid Jamek LRT station, he said he was not satisfied with the rail services and wanted immediate improvements to be made.

He said the existing services were not systematic, there were not enough coaches and coverage was not comprehensive, leaving many areas not serviced.

He got on the next train, which arrived 15 minutes later, and headed for KL Sentral, the modern transportation hub for the various rail services.

15 mins!!! [jawdrop]

For those who might not have worked in KL, 15mins is rather normal. But they are rather inconsistent as there were times I waited only 5minutes. But, their trains are much much shorter than ours, hence can take in less commuters as compared to our MRT.

The trains are mostly quite poorly maintained, lightings are dim and journey is noisy with the rails running on the tracks.

But having said that, at numerous occasions, commuters actually Q up to wait for the trains when the train marshalls were at the platform (unlike SG).

LHL? wait long long.

if LHL were to test our mrt, surely he'll reach city hall (from AMK) without any delays. our pple very good in making sure of that. all those in the civil service knows how to make sure everything works sui sui, esp for VVVVVVIP visits.

haha, me too. but at least he bothers to do so. dont know if LHL will go down to feel the sentiment on the ground.

but wait, SMRT got some best passenger experience award right? maybe can take it as good enough.

then again, as some people mentioned, he better not do so, else will have more jams as the security force gotta clear/sweep/secure all the ground he stepped on hours before/after.

chey... i tot is LHL [:|]
