Sick of your boss? You are not alone

ARE you unhappy with your boss? You are not alone. Almost one-third of workers in Asia feel the same way as you do.

The research by Hay Group Insight, the employee and customer research division of global management consultancy Hay Group, also showed that only 16 per cent of employees in Asia feel they are effective in their jobs.

It also found that 35 per cent of employees in Asia feel detached from their work and will only perform the minimum that will satisfy the job requirements. Of this group of employees, 60 per cent intend to leave their company.

The research results, which were derived from interviews and surveys over a year, showed that workers in Asia are more frustrated with their bosses than their British counterparts, in part because of the difference in leadership styles.

It is a culture thing.

In fact, I bet half of MCF Forummers reading this thread are some kind of "Manager" and many of them are disliked by their subordinates - heck - Im also sure many of them dont even realise it. So it can only get worse.

Actually, the divide between Manager & Sub will always be there - simply b/c each will always have differing KPI. The manager must always remember that they too were once "executives" who bitched about their bosses before they got promoted and should always keep in my mind why they hated their bosses when they handle their own staff. Too bad many dont, or just cant be bothered b/c they are in a position of so called "power".

'Well ya see, it's like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.'

Honestly, I'm worried that some people may actually believe those words in your sig. For those who are not aware, alcohol does not "kill" brain cells - it affects the communication between neurons in your brain, which is as good as damaging your brain. Those who have studied neural networks will know that our memories, learned strategies and intelligence are stored in these neural connections.
