Altivo 3rd Gear September 22, 2008 Share September 22, 2008 (edited) suggest you go to HWZ for more info.... there is a specific taiwan thread which contains lotsa stuff/recommendations etc. here it is. Last count, there are 744 pages on it. I find it rather useful as i did my research based on it. http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=718173 Also, except for 5 stars establishments, most taiwan hotel prefer you to call them to make a room booking even though they might have a website (which unfortunately doesnt have a reservation mechanism) good luck! Apollo 1st Gear September 22, 2008 Share September 22, 2008 Sun Moon Lake will b very expensive. been there >10 yrs back. the hot water system for lousy hotel/ motel hardly exist. u hv to pay more if u want decent hot water. not worth it. and also they like to chase customers out earlier. i strongly suggest u skip visiting it altogether. go there 6 early 7 early then book hotel at taichong. Hotel/ motels in Taiwan. since u gg with ur wife. I suggest you buy rubber stud hangers. stick to the mirror and cover it with the towel. else u may end up as a pornstar in some homebrew DVD. plenty of perverts there and cannot b trusted. best u also consider getting one of those scanners to check for wireless pinhole cam. Fondue Neutral Newbie September 22, 2008 Share September 22, 2008 (edited) I highly recommend this place in Hualien. Great if its just the 2 of you. Just as good with younger kids. 1. http://www.lakesheart.com.tw/ My kids love the bathtub Only thing is its about 20mins drive from Hualien City. The homestay folks can pick you up from the train station. 2. This one under the same group also good. http://www.cis-life.com.tw/home1/house1/ They have bicycles that you can just use to ride around the country lanes. 3. If you like pacific view, try this : http://www.bayview.com.tw/ Room is not as cosy as the above 2, but nice and clean and new. This is the view from the room. The pantry is open 24hr you you to snack Edited September 22, 2008 by Fondue

Mazdaowner Moderator October 9, 2012 Share October 9, 2012 Anyone stay in Santos Hotel in Taipei before? Any comments? All I can tell you is, it's a rather old hotel, don't expect much. There are far more choices of hotels for the same or a little more of the price. Off hand I cannot tell you, I primarily don't stay in hotels while in Taiwan and Japan, have seen this one when I drive past. ↡ Advertisement
