Neutral Newbie

It is probably a worm or remments of a worm. This is a visual basic worm, probably written by script kiddies, and luckily has low damage/infection potential.

Best to clean out your system with good antivirus and anti-malware software.

Did you kenna a Virus Notification or Alert lately ? Maybe you want to update your Virus Definations files and perform a thorough scan ....

my other laptop tio virus... but cant find the recovery cd leh!

 

i remembered i got re-format w/o the cd b4.. but i cant seem to know how to do it..

 

any expert knows how to do it???

 

please help...

Jus put in the original XP disc into the CD rom, restart and follow the instruction.

 

things to note though :

 

you need to find out the model of your laptop in the net and download the drivers. XP may not have your laptop drivers in their disc.

What's is the model of your laptop ?

 

Some laptop have built in recovery image in the hidden partition of the HDD one . (Like IBM Lenovo or Acer etc)

 

IBM is pressing the thinkvantage button .

 

Acer is using their E-recovery button i think.

 

Other models varies .

 

Some can recovery it to factory default state or back to best know working state/date for the laptop. etc.

Remove VBS.Solow.B Virus

 

 

 

HOW TO REMOVE VBS.Solow.B :

 

1. Temporarily Disable System Restore (Windows Me/XP).

2. Update the virus definitions.

3. Reboot computer in SafeMode

 

4. Run a full system scan and clean/delete all infected files

 

5. Delete related files:

 

a) Open My Computer -> Tools Menu -> Folder Options -> View Tab:

b) Select: Show hidden Files and Folders

c) Uncheck: Hide Extensions for known file type and Hide Protected operating system

d) Click Yes Then OK.

e) Delete autorun.inf and FS6519.dll.vbs in all your hard drive. Commonly found in root of Drive C. Use your Windows "Search" function to find all.

 

 

6. Delete any values added to the registry.

Navigate to and delete the following registry entries:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun"FS6519" = "%Windir%FS6519.dll.vbs"

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerMain"Window Title" = "TAGA LIPA ARE!"

 

 

 

7. Exit registry editor and restart the computer.

8. In order to make sure that the threat is completely eliminated from your computer, carry out a full scan of your computer using AntiVirus and Antispyware Software. Another way to delete the virus using various Antivirus Program without the need to install can be done with Online Virus Scanner
