Car Restoration in Malaysia

Hey guys,

 

if i were to buy an old 1990s mx5, and wish to restore the leather seats, panels to make it real nice and dandy all again.

 

think it might be better to do in malaysia? any idea how much it'll cost? =)

Leather seats...I think not so easy to find lobangs in msia considering that most of our cars here have leather. Over there, most have either fabric seats or PVC/PU ready made slipover covers.

 

Panel beating/spray paint is ok over there. Can find good deals.

I actually did a full restoration of the exact model you are asking about. Took me 9 months because i stripped to bare metal and rebuilt from scratch.

 

You can check out the miata club website, they have links to some merchants.

 

I did explore doing some work in M'sia but ended up doing it all here. The cost difference wasn't that much plus I could go and monitor progress easily.

good effort!!

how long your ride is still balance on the road?

i know it will not be cheap and the result is most heavenly...

 

many many years i restored an old honda CD 150cc, the 4 stroke eng...bought for 2k plus...spend almost 10K...evetually sold for 8k.
