Singapore GAS Retail price is Fair , What is your view ?

Using the following assumption,

Taiwan living standard is about the same with spore....

Their petrol today price is

 

98 - S$1.2045

95 - S$1.1318

92 - S$1.1

 

After adding our govt gas tax of + 0.40 / L assumption...

It seems it should be priced at

 

98 - S$1.6045

95 - S$1.5318

92 - S$1.50....

 

By looking what is offered here...what's your view ? should this be justified ?

bearing in mind we have all the oil refinaries nearby our island.

 

Today published , Spore Gas prices after discount

98 - S$ 1.824

95 - S$ 1.754

92 - $$ 1.722

i beg to differ with your statement saying Taiwan living standard is about the same as us. Do u know that fresh university graduates in Taipei earn approx. US$1,200 on the average? I just spoke to my Taiwanese fren yday abt this as she is currently in S'pore for a biz trip..

Taiwan has too much uni running degree programme.

Degrees holder easily flood the street of Taipei....

Use on par comparision.... of our NTU and NUS with their ... (臺大)

Their rest of degree dun really equate the similiar standard ..IMHO...

 

looking at the prices of food, clothes, housing... living standard is quite on par

they got good engineering uni also..

their cost of living higher or lower??

u are right.... so I used an assumption (which doesn't exist)...that if they have the same $0.40 /l (their govt also charge $0.40) ...against our current price..........

 

this show , we are out by at least $0.20+ for all the different gas grade... (if their govt also tax $0.40/L)

I agree that some government tax should be imposed on scarce resources like oil.

 

BUT Singapore's petrol is over-priced. 40cents per liter is too much.

 

The tax should be 40 CENTS PER FULL TANK.
