Shanghai F1 Grand Prix

i know, i know, it's not even under way

however i believe it will be a very very interesting race

in Shanghai, China

firstly, Massa will be just behind Hamilton on the starting

grid. how will it be of Lewis's start this time round?

how will Alonso fared with his Renault starting from fourth?

will the 2 time champion make the championship more interesting

in its final races?

Nick Heidfeld is now 9th after being demoted from 5th.

looking on during Q3, i do not understand why he overtook

DC during his in lap (he pitted in after he overtook DC)

while DC is on his fast qualifying lap...

then again, if NH is indeed on his in lap and catches up with DC

we may have to ask "is DC driving that Slow"?? [lipsrsealed]

ok, what i want to say next can be seen to be of a Pro-LH

observation but the fact remain as it is during the qualifying.

and most certainly it's not in response to any anti LH threads here

... during Q3, LH 1st run laptime put him 5th, with about 0.5 or

so seconds from Kimi at P1. it seems Kimi is waking or already

woken up from his slumber form. [thumbsup]

then LH pitted in for new tyres for his second & final run,

checked with his engineer on where he is good (to maintain)

and where he is losing time which are sector 2 and 3.

and amazingly, he managed to digest this info and put in a stunning

lap to claim pole position ahead of Kimi by 0.3 sec

it is always easy to overdrive in the sectors you are being told

u are slower, and then have a even slower lap time.

and, personally, to me qualifying is a more difficult task for drivers.

because during then, there are no other cars for you to aim and overtake,

u cannot follow or analyze your opponents lines or baking points.

in qualifying, u just go. go as fast as possible. but driving over the limit

is a problem. being smooth is the solution. but where to be on the limit and

where to be smooth is another level of driving all together.

all in all, i hope the race will not put me into my afternoon nap mode.

it should not be esp when all the chips are almost all down, and a SMALL

chance of rain. [sly]

Kubica is out from the driver's championship contest liao unless the same sh.it happen like the Japan GP [sly]. But, there are too many infront of him who can take advantage of mcclaren vs ferrari ... especially Alonso [sly]

Kubica can do a long long 1st stint and see what happens in front

of him

anything can happens.... like another Steward's X-File decision

on anyone

Alonso is well placed to disturb the front runners... and that Renault

is not so slow now so it will be very interesting to see how he hold

off the challenge from Hekki, and how he decide to challenge the F cars

in front of him

now 7 points differences for the championship contenders!

[thumbsup]

2 weeks to Brazil, can't wait!

the only prob is that it will be in the wee hours

[crazy]

* PS let's see if there's any odd stewards' decision?

perhaps "Team Order" to be investigated after race for

car number 1 and 2 ?

[:p]

anyway, i do agree that team order shld be legal.

it's a team sports at the end of the day.

** PS... wah, the chinese grid gals is [thumbsup]

Sorry bro I will have to disagree with you about the team order. I believe there's a reason why they separate the championships into 2 - drivers & constructors. I think the team should just let the drivers race and fight it out for the driver's championship unless that will affect the constructor's championship standing. Ultimately, one wants to see the driver winning races/championships on his own merit rather than his team mate letting him pass to obtain more points.

And yes, the Chinese grid girls are much better than the sour face local ones [:p]

true true.... but then again, looking at the aspect of the team as a whole

it's logical

it would be very silly to have Kimi taking 2nd which will leave Massa

9 points behind Hamilton, if we are the team managers and have the

'power' to change it rite?

however, as a spectator view... we know it's not right.

we seem how the people reacted when Ruben was Ordered to give the win

to Schumi in 2002 Austrian Grand Prix.

BOOOOOOOO [thumbsdown]

but how can the FIA stop this completely? they can't.

else, Massa will be given 25 sec penalty along with Kimi as well.

if we can see this on the TV, pls dun tell us that the FIA is blind?

so it's a double edge sword

since no one can really police this, why dun have team order legal like

in WRC?

cheers

Bro:

Considering the controversies that preceded this race, it was quite a boring race once the lights turned green and LH shot into the lead. LH drove well today - my concerns were about the possibilities of engine or tyre failures (Heiki blew his engine at the last race and blew his tyre today - luckily it was the wrong car.) [sweatdrop]

Spot on about the Shanghainese beauties. As for the team order, it will become controversial if Massa manages to become WDC by a single point or a tie (and win on countback) at Brazil.

Cheers

There is no team order. It is perfectly legal as Kimi gave up his 2nd spot voluntarily. In addition, Kimi did not slow down for Massa to catch up.

Even though tis is a team, driver championship is still more important to Ferrari (at least).
