silly dude, when did LTA become a santa claus in your eyes ever before.

1st it requires a GPS! Just like when they trial the IU stuff, where there's still no "gantree"

Look wats now after the trial works great in achieving KPI, FULL OF TREES!

So wats next? Compulsory GPS on every vehicle? Increase TREES sucking power machiam a turbo vaccum? Then maybe u will pay lesser for your road tax. By then then maybe they will come out the pollution tax to balance the income.

There's just no free lunch

whenever the garment say they are studying, it will be implemented. IR, organ, now charge as you drive system - which not necessary mean they will do away with ERP, which can be easily factorinto the road usage.

definetly will not see removal of road tax. Big Fat Cash Cow. they will say need to do public education on tv, so who pays other than from the road tax? just like the TV license, you do the sums and the number is not small.

LTA should also look into charging more for those who drive & park whole day at their work place.

These people doesn't really require a car and just causing congestion during peak hours.

Charge learner drivers for hogging the roads during peak hours.

*peak hours = defined by bus lanes.

Lots of possibilities with GPS. Can even check whether drivers are speeding and fine them accordingly. [rolleyes]

Anyway, it's not easy - GPS signals easily blocked by tunnels, trees, etc. Wonder how they get around this problem...
