worst if report hit&run, your claim rate will be 0%!

why? cos no one die in here... police will not check at all... (just like my case 1 yr back, i somemore have video record the accident, but police dun want to see) police will just sent a letter to the owner, then if owner say, never happen, then case close!

so you got to get a lawyer (pay $10k 1st) to get the claim yourself.

huh? thought its required for all accident vehicles to stop and exchange particulars? on this count, isn't the offender violating the law already?

hmm.. maybe the victim can choot stunt.. call mata/ambulance on the spot.. complain neck pain and the other party escaped.

this way got 'injury' on record, mata surely have to investigate? (a bit kua zhang, but will this work?)

yes all accident must stop & exchange particulars, the offender violate the law! but what can police do?? they look at my car, small dent, then they will not do anything liao... not even wanna see my video!

maybe victim choot stunt like this may work, but i have yet try it...

but best like me have video record so the police may look at the video and chase the owner!...

i still waiting for the next offender to hit me and then run... this time i will call ambulance and not move my car... let police come... then see what happen...

You could have called the police immediately. How can he not know his ID or even drive without carrying a licence? What if he was just an illegal immigrant without a licence?

Bro,

Actually not their soundproof good. Is just that they have the thinking, Im infront of u..u try whacked me, u pay!

I've had my fair share of drivers cutting into my lane abruptly. Blasted the horn, but they still move into my lane.

I think their theory is: if you sound your horn, it means you can see me, which means you will avoid me.

Another theory is, if u got the time to horn, dats means u got the chance to react swiftly as well.... [thumbsdown]

But how many can brake in time to avoid additional hassles is another question...

Btw, saw a kuku driver along PIE earlier on making a last min exit into Paya Lebar, causing vehicles on the 2nd and the 3rd lanes to jam brakes. P-plate by the way... This type of pple would rather inconvenience the other road users than make a u-turn. [thumbsdown]

It just takes 1 distracted driver to teach him a lesson... [shakehead]

Yesterday, while travelling beside a blue Comfort Delgro private coach on a 2 lane slip road, the bus suddenly cut into my lane without warning. I tried to avoid the bus but there was no more room for me to move, any further and I will hit the curb. I kept horning and braking but the bus continued to cut and the front left portion of my car was hit. After that I tried to horn and high beam but the bus continued to move. So I had the chase the bus for quite a distance to flag him down. He came down with a WTF look on his face and I have to point to him he had just knocked into my car, he was apparently not even aware that he had hit someone. It was when he opened his mouth that I realised that he is from China. As it was already quite a distance from the accident location, I only managed take pictures of the damage and took his phone number and name, he said he does not remember his ID numnbers and did not carry his IDs with him.

So I went to the workshop to assess the damage, the boss said that chances of winning the case is quite high based on the damage since they are more to the front but there is still a 50/50 chance in case he twists things around. I tried to call him on his phone to meet me at the workshop but he kept making excuses that he was busy and cannot go, he eventually refused to answer all my calls. The workshop then accompanied me to report the accident.

The workshop had gotten me another car to drive, I think the total cost will sum up to be quite high in the end. They said that they will claim from the driver's insurance first but I am really worried that the cost will come back to me in case the FT's insurance company denies payment. According to the workshop, the case outcome will only come out after 6 months. Does it mean that I will have to worry for 6 months? Do I have to pay out of my pocket or my insurance company will cover that?

For those of you who had encountered such incidents, care to share your experiences?

Think he must have act blur. Dun know how they got their licence. The other day me park my car at the usual car park lot. One FT came and make a 3 point turn, he just reversed and nearly hit on my car until one pedestrian slam his hand at his lorry to tell him to stop.Me and the pesdestrian stare at him and when he came out from his lorry, he just stand there giving a blur look until one of his sidekick came and mutter something to his FT buddy and took over the wheels. I am danm lucky coz someone stop him from reversing or else my car sure kanna and wont be surprise he will just drive off after that.

Anyway for your case, you better call or pay a visit to your insurance company to seek their advice coz ultimately they are the one claiming the damages.

noticed quite a number of feedback saying its 50-50 case.

but looking back at your situation, the bus driver actually didn't stop upon accident, imho, escaping from the scene, until you gave chase.

dunno.. if we take a step back, assuming that you are not able to give chase, you go straight report mata and insurance company, while supplying them the plate numbers. can this be considered hit-and-run, and thus, improving your chances of a claim (than a 50-50)?

can someone in the industry or got experience share?

tp very the cb one lah. so long as u made conversation it will not be hit and run.
